A couple of days ago I adopted a 2 year old bearded dragon from my friend. Yesterday, I decided to give it a bath because he had a lot of dry, old skin. However, when I put him in the bath, he immediately tried to find a way out of it. Today, the dragon sat very still without making any movement in the water, drank a very small amount, and once again jumped out of the bath. He also does not enjoy being handled that much, struggling to escape my hands whenever I hold him. What could I do? I thought bearded dragons loved bathing?
Mine hates baths too, unless they are dirty, I would not stress him out. Every now & then I do give him one, he does not even move. He wants out as soon as possible.

There are many different ways to keep them hydrated. You can keep a nice sized water bowl in their cage and mist their cage regularly or you can do what I do and put him in the bath 2 times a week for about 20 minutes. He isn’t a huge fan of it but I’ve had him for about a year and he is healthy that way.
