I would like to make my tank brighter since the cool side gets very dark. I am super happy with the heat lamp and uvb and basking spot on the warm side but when he moves over to cool off, its too dark on that side and he gets sleepy. Im not talking about the Arcadia Lumenize...the uvb part is perfect now and I dont want to mess with it. Just something to brighten up the tank a little overall without adding more/different heat or uvb. What could I get size wise and bulb wise and where should I put it? I dont have a front opening tank yet..access is from the right side and the left side is where my lights are. Is over the screen ok? And can I easily remove it when I need to get in there to give him food, water etc?

I would just get an l.e.d. that screws in like and old fashioned light bulb. The l.e d. Shouldn't produce much heat. So it shouldn't jess with your temperature gradient.

Nice to hear you are working on this. Brightness is so often overlooked but it is very important for them and has great impact on their activity levels.
And looks nicer to us as well ;)

Here are some ideas how I solved this. Luis litterally just got a LED bulb on the top, which does the job but looks...medium nice.
Lilly has a strip with some 90° bends, that's what I'd do on a new build.
Make sure they are a daylight white bulb (6500k):

PS: good luck spotting the two, they are in the pics somewhere ;)

HA HA HA I found Lius pretty quickly. Lily I had to make the picture full screen, zoom in and search for her.

Hi there a little update we went from a 50 watt heat lamp to a 100 watt basking halogen heat lamp hahaha I saw some comments about it being so close so I made sure to put it a ruler away from her
Has anyone seen this before? Something in the corner of his mouth
