So, I realize that I should have done this from the beginning. But, I am kind of regretful that I do not have 2 beardies. I feel like it would be better if my guy had a partner, and I also think I would really like it as well. My tank is big enough, I already have 2 basking spots, and would do any necessary upgrades/downgrades to put another in with my 17 inch 1 year old beardie.
But here's the question, do you guys think this would be successful? I'm not new to research or to reptiles in general, but I know there are mixed opinions and some successes and some failures.
Do you think I should try adding another beardie? Please explain your reasoning, I would really like to know
If you have experiences in this topic, here's the place to put 'em
So it's a if you are putting them in the same tank (no matter how big it is) and a If you're wanting to get a second one that's going in a second tank.
Dragons are solitary creatures who will attack and bite each other if housed together. There are exceptions to this rule, but the consequences of being wrong result in missing limbs and tails and dominance issues and possibly offspring. If you want two beardies, cuz snuggling one is not enough, then you will want two vivs. If you are thinking you want to provide your beardie with a companion, then time spent with you is probably the best option. IMO.
