Has anyone heard anything about the round tube lights? They are not quite like compact bulbs (which I understand are no-nos for beardies) but not quite like straight tube lights (which are good). Here's a link to what I'm talking about... http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2811521&keepsr=0&clickid=prod_cs (sorry it won't link... you may have to copy and paste). The sales pitch says "Full-spectrum illumination that delivers UVB light levels that are essential to the bone health of desert reptiles."
That is made by Zilla and from what I've read, Zilla doesn't make any uvb bulb that's effective for beardies. They tend to cause eye problems in dragons. I would only use the reptisun 10 fluorescent tube. You could use the reptiglo 8, if you can find it or better the reptisun 5 this is better than the reptiglo 8 tho that is still o.k. and much better than the reptiglo 10. Some say the reptiglo 10 is a good uvb but I've read about many dozens of people, just on this site, that have had eye problems show up in their beardies just by using the reptiglo 10 bulb.
Awesome- thanks for the info. I have never used Zilla bulbs; my husband found these online last night and I had never heard of them. Thanks! I will stick with my MVB
