hi everyone i think my bearded dragon just became spoiled  i was wondering why he never go after the crickets in the tank but when i give them to him by hand he eats them with no problem! can somebody help me break this habit see the reason why i feed him by hand was because i was tryna teach him to eat from my hand and eat on his own but now he starting to just eat from my hand but its kind of funny cuz when i put them phoenix worms in the tank he eats those without me hand feeding them :? so anyone know whats the deal?
Does your beardie have a full spectrum UVB light, do you coat the crickets in calcium supplement and how often. How old are your UV lights and calcium supplement?
Pablo has been the same way with his salads. Usually when I'm off I will feed him by hand just because I like to spoil him, especially on my days off when I can spend more time with him. Lately I'll come home from clinicals and his salad hasn't been touched- so I'll get some fresh out of the fridge and hand feed it and he'll scarf it up. So, for a few days I just stopped coming home and giving him fresh from my hand, and eventually he started to devour the bowl while I'm gone all day.

My dragons are slowing down on eating their crickets because I think they feel that the crickets are too much of a pain to chase around the viv. They would prefer worms dropped right infront of them. They are spoiled for sure. I now make sure I drop crickets right infront of them in order for them to catch them easier. It is funny that they can be so lazy sometimes.
mine is very spoiled i feed him enough to last 2 days (except salad, thats everyday! and his stomach at the moment,no kidding!! it feels like ball he is so fat!!!!,he has to exersise to burn those extra calories!! ,he should been on biggest loser for beardies!
Wow! I thought the same thing about my little guy! We used to put him in a smaller tank and put his crickets right in front of him. Then I saw how the others chased and jumped for their food. Not to mention the time he fell over and just ate from his back. I decided it was time for more exercise while eating! Now I put him on a white blanket, I have hard wood floors and he just spins his legs if I don't, and dump his roaches on the blanket. He chases them now!!! I'm so proud of my little guy! He can run! LOL!
wow!!! im not the only one   i guess we all have spoiled beardies mine wouldnt eat his greens at all he wants me hand feed them to him thats how spoiled he is lol to think about it tho he belly is getting fatter too! he might need to exercise time to do some running just like izz said burn them calories haha! hey can anyone tell me how to put pictures up on here this my first time i can finally put a picture of my beardie up! so please someone help
