A cozy place

Today I made the entrance to one of Taco's caves a bit narrower using that small knotty branch. He instantly liked it :)
He used the cave before, primarily for resting during the day when he seeks shadow and sometimes for sleeping, but I would guess he now likes it even more. Tonight he's sleeping in there.

He looks quite content 🙂

I think many dragons like to watch the world around them through some obstacles. Foxy really likes to lie behind a bush of artificial succulent and watch us through the leaves.

Taco enjoys climbing up and looking out the window very much, and he also likes hidden places and caves.

For him, they for sure should be concealed, e.g. by the big aloe that's in front of the other cave.

But he usually then isn't watching much when he is semi-hidden, as either he's resting and sleepy on that day, or he's more awake but he can't see much going on from that place (we're usually not in much in that room for most of the day, and from those semi-hidden spaces both the windows and the balcony aren't visible).
I can say clearly: he's less active and a bit sleepy and taking a nap during the day, or getting ready for the night, when in such places.
He has a bush of live plant (really large golliwog, big as a head) and he's no lying behind it and peeking through.

That is a very nice addition to his cave. Using their hides from time to time is very healthy in my opinion.
Ruby always would go in hers and turn around. She then would come partially back out, to just behind her front shoulders and just watch the world. She always looked like a mythical dragon 🐉 guarding a horde. I couldn't help but grin every time.

Well, I guess I'm the only one with nosey dragons. Especially when looking out the windows, they want a clear view. They pick, scale and stalk the window. Rocky is calm and Ruby wants to beat anything up moving. He has anger issues.

Taco also does that :)
That's why I said he likes both ;)

Typical Taco behavior: Sitting up there on the highest board of this climbing wall, looking out of the windows for hours, a clear view over the ocean and parts of the city (fisherboats going by, there is a bike lane, there are shore birds, there is a street and now also a construction site, and there are container ships on anchor and then suddenly moving into the port) and the balcony (there are many succulents, occasionally hummingbirds, and when I'm at home I often sit there; yesterday he watched me all the time while I did some woodwork on the balcony, 4 hours) - and then I hear a *scratch-scratch-bump!* and he has jumped down, gets in one of his caves, usually squeezing in tightly, and stays there for maybe half an hour and comes out again, maybe for hours until it's time to sleep.

Sometimes he stays a complete day in a cave, next day again up on the windows for hours.
In his caves, he likes to put his head on a stone, and dig deeper with the bag legs. Always head higher than the rest of his body.
If for any reason he can't look out of the window (there are curtains we close at night as the lights from the harbor and a parking lot are very bright, and when I get up and that's very early I open them, but when I'm not at home that's my husband's task and he often sleeps in as he works different hours and just isn't a morning person), Taco gets grumpy. He wants to know what's going on outside.

Omg one day I forgot to open the shades quick enough...I thought I was getting kicked out.
They are so routine, heaven forgot I need 5 extra minutes lol

@Rocky2022

So, I get up at 5, and I open the curtains slightly after. My husband claims to get up around 8, but it's closer to 10 sometimes :D
Until the end of the year, I'll be not around very much, as traveling a lot with always 7 to 10 days away for various work-related intercontinental travel (currently I'm on my way to Johannesburg and writing here during a longer layover at an airport, will travel to Tucson and to Marrakesh, then some business meetings within Chile - that got crammed in all towards end of the year, and then at the very end of the year visiting family in Germany), 1 - 2 days home. So Taco has to deal with my husband's routine, or my husband with Taco's ;)
