Hello,

Oh no, that doesn't sound too good. How do her eyes look, are they sunken in at all, or, is her
beard dark or normal color?
Since she isn't eating at all on her own, try getting some chicken or turkey baby food, along with
some squash or sweet potato baby food. Just drip it onto the end of her nose & she should lick
the food off that way.
Are you able to keep her warmer overnight, to help boost her system?

Let us know how she is doing.
Tracie
Yes, I am doing all that but she refuses to open her mouth. I am starting to think this might be a parasite or maybe mites. She has some brown spots on her belly that I have not been able to remove with bathing. Also do I keep force feeding her even if she hasn’t pooped?

Okay, so I have been feeding her gerber since she is refusing to eat anything on her own. I will be taking her to the vet Monday to rule out any parasites or mites. I looked up pictures of mites and that doesn’t seem to be it.
Questions:
-How often and how much do I feed her gerber?

I am feeding her a carrot, pea, and green bean mix. I am also doing turkey gerber and pedialyte

-Do I keep feeding her even though she has not pooped?

She pooped about 4 days ago, her stool was normal. It was not dry or too watery. I will bathe her tonight as that has usually helped in the past.

- Is 105 degrees a good basking temp?

I haven’t been able to take her out to the sun for too long because it is cold outside. But her heatlamp also gives out UVB. Her new light gets here Monday.

Thank for your help!

NO enemas please!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are a hazard to the dragon --- what new light are you getting? I would get some Critical Care Herbivore for her posting link
you will need a 3ML syringe -- Tracie sells them on her website I would get some from her --
3 ml Syringe these work great for the critical care -- 105 might be too hot for her I would get it down to 95-100 surface basking temp and taken w/ a digital probe thermometer -- yes keep feeding her but I would go w/ the critical care its good stuff

Okay so I ordered the critical care, it should get here in 2-3 days. Meanwhile I bought Fluker’s Repta-Boost… I heard it works wonders…

O.K, those are good products. Don't worry if she doesn't poo in a while and also that it will start getting mushy while being fed the supplemental food.
She is much too sick and thin to brumate so keep feeding her. Can you post a pic of the brown spots on her belly ?

Does she brumate?
She does, but she has only brumated twice in the 8 years o have had her. But I don’t think that is what it is because she will go into her box and she wasn’t doing that at all. She is also super skinny, I don’t think she would make it through a brumation. Her tail is bones, and the top of her head is sunken in.

Let me try… every time I try to post a pic it tells me it’s too large…

Regardless, I will be taking her to the vet to check for parasites or mites. That stuff on her belly will not come off. I have tried multiple times with a soft toothbrush while bathing her. I thought she had gotten poop on herself, but it won’t come off.

Her stomach is O.K, those are normal tiny stains and are nothing to worry about. It happens to older beardies, especially if they're sickly and lay on their belly a lot.
I doubt that her health problem is from parasites, many beardies carry them and this level of emaciation in an adult doesn't seem likely.

That’s good to know, thank you!

Hello,

How is she doing today?
Definitely don't let her even attempt to brumate, because she is way too thin to make it through
anything like that.
Those are good products so combined with the baby foods hopefully you can get adequate
nutrition into her.
Remember to keep her warm overnight right now, since she isn't feeling well.

Yesterday, I fed her 3 times. I gave her 2 ML of veggie gerber, 2ML of turkey, 1/2 ML pedialyte. That was twice yesterday and then the 3rd meal was 3ML of repta boost.

I really don’t know if I’m feeding her correctly, too often, or enough.

New T5 light gets here tomorrow.

The 150 watt lamp is heating up the basking side to 100-105, if the heater is on it reaches 110. So she does move down to the lower part of the basking area when it is at the top temperature. Should I change it back to the 75 watt one? That one was staying at 100 max 105. They also have a 100 watt one at the pet store.

I am not sure about the amounts given - we need to ask Tracie about this - please let me know when the UVB get to you so I can help you set it up- you want surface basking temps 95-100 -- shes moving lower because its too hot - you want ambient temps on the not side around 100

Hello,

How are you spacing out her meals, every few hours? Are you dripping the food onto the end of her nose & letting her lick the food off of her nose?
What is the consistency of the food, is it thin or medium thickness? Be careful when giving food so that she doesn't aspirate.
I'm glad to hear you are getting food & fluids into her. So, you are giving a total of 7 to 8MLS of food/fluids daily? How did she seem to handle that?

Tracie

Hey! I'm planning on ordering a 4x2x2 for my next beardie but I'm worried about lighting. I have a UVA and a UVB but they are small (the UVA just being a bulb and the UVB being 12 ish inches?) My house is drafty so I need a strong light that puts off quite a good amount of heat, any suggestions?
cookie event at my library today, quite fun! Made some bracelets for my comrades too, to give them at church in the morning. Got a busy day tomorrow even though I’m off work… i go back on tuesday so atleast I’ll have 2 days off to rewind….then back to hell lol
The head tilt tho! Aaaahhh
