Okay so she seemed a lot better today, she was very alert and even tried to feed on her own when she saw the worms, but her aim seems off, not sure why… She moved around a lot more and even walked around, which she had not done. I got her to eat some worms (10), some gerber (carrots, peas, green beans) and some electrolytes. Her tummy feels full but she has not pooped, I bathed her and she really enjoyed it and even drank water on her own. I did it with the hopes that she would poop as she usually does, but no luck. No luck on the butter lettuce or fresh veggies either. I also changed her heat light bulb to 150 watts, and will be ordering a probe thermometer tonight.

A 150 watt bulb might be too hot for the 40 gal. tank, especially if your house temps. are over 75 degrees.

The uncoordinated movements can be from lack of calcium absorption which develops when there isn't enough uvb

Hello,

I am glad to hear she is perking up some with more fluids, etc. I'm sure once you have the new UVB
light, that will help her recovery. Which one did you decide to purchase?
As AHBD stated, she is probably having some calcium issues due to not having the proper UVB light
because that greatly affects her ability to absorb things properly.
Keep her a little warmer overight, around 75-80F to help keep her system boosted. I hope that she is
feeling much better!
They can definitely become depressed from lack of attention or socialization. They are very social
little souls.

So the tank temperature is staying around 100-105 with the 150 watt bulb. But I did order a probe thermometer to have a more accurate temperature. We usually keep our home at 70 degrees. Today she didn’t want to eat much, only one worm and no veggies. I did notice her belly was full, so I’m thinking that’s why. But I took her out for about 30 minutes and she did wander around and finally pooped. I’m hoping that is why she wasn’t eating. Her stool looked like it normally does.

Hello,

She is looking a bit better but I would like to see the fat pads on her head come up. They are dented
in quite a bit. Keep trying to get fluids into her & foods, even if you have to help her out for awhile.
Are you using a digital probe to measure her temperatures? I noticed you had the round analogue type
of thermometers.
Keep us posted on her, I hope she starts recovering more for you.

Shes looking better than before, happy to hear that she’s recovering, slowly but surely. 🫶🏻

Hello,

Definitely, the 50 gallon tank will be good for her right now, like a hospital tank for her to
rest in while she gets better. How is she doing today?

Hello… things have taken a bit of a turn for the worse. She is now refusing to eat anything at all. She is not moving, she is losing weight fast. I have been force feeding her gerber and pedialyte with water. But she is also not pooping much at all. I really don’t know what else to do. Temp is good at 105 and 80 on cool side. I don’t know nothing is wrong with her physically, I have seen her walk and she acts like she is gonna eat the feeders but then doesn’t.

Hello,

Oh no, that doesn't sound too good. How do her eyes look, are they sunken in at all, or, is her
beard dark or normal color?
Since she isn't eating at all on her own, try getting some chicken or turkey baby food, along with
some squash or sweet potato baby food. Just drip it onto the end of her nose & she should lick
the food off that way.
Are you able to keep her warmer overnight, to help boost her system?

Let us know how she is doing.

Hey! I'm planning on ordering a 4x2x2 for my next beardie but I'm worried about lighting. I have a UVA and a UVB but they are small (the UVA just being a bulb and the UVB being 12 ish inches?) My house is drafty so I need a strong light that puts off quite a good amount of heat, any suggestions?
cookie event at my library today, quite fun! Made some bracelets for my comrades too, to give them at church in the morning. Got a busy day tomorrow even though I’m off work… i go back on tuesday so atleast I’ll have 2 days off to rewind….then back to hell lol
