My beardie is 7 months old, 333 grams and 18 1/2" long. He has started eating every other day recently and I was wondering if that is normal. I still offer live food every day and put a salad in his tank all day, but every other day he does not eat anything.

Could be --- did we go over the lighting and basking temps w/ you?

Yes you helped me with those shortly after I got him. Those are on point and I do have a solar meter so I know the uvb is still good, I have been having trouble keeping the humidity up, it is usually around 10-15 so I have been misting the tank and him acouple of times a day. He also is just starting to drink water from a syringe.

You can get a small humidifier and place next to your tank--are you using a digital probe hygrometer?

I have a probe that measures both temp and humidity on basking spot but not a probe that only measures humidity. Right now I have 3 large water bowls in his tank (120 gallon) and that is not enough. In warmer weather I struggle to keep humidity down and now I can't keep it up. I will look into a humidifier and see if that helps. Could that be a reason for his change in eating or do they get to a certain size, age when they normally slow down. He is on the larger size according to the charts I've seen.

We had exactly the same situation (9 month old).
Usually we fed dubia in the morning (11am), and after that the salad for all him day. One day he began to refuse brakfast(dubia) and dinner(salad) and began to eat every other day.
One day I offered him dubia at 4 pm, he ate a double portion! And the next day, too! As a result, we now switched to the schedule - salad in the morning and dubia for dinner.
So we eat every day now.

Thanks for that info, I'll try that.

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
