bob is a 221 day old beardie.he weighs 4.25 grams and is missing 1/3 of his tail.but, though the same size as birth 7 months ago,he always ate very well and was active.now,he won't open his eyes and he got a bit under weight.he was very lethargic, and is now just lethargic.this started 2.5 weeks ago.and he wouldn't poop.i started crushing mealworms ,reptivite d3, and a bit of pumpkin in a 10 ml tipless syringe and he took to it.for a week he's been pooping, now up to twice in one day.he will now move around his cage a bit,but he just won't open his eyes.he has a very nice, clean cage.huge.no chance he ate substrate because he is on stones.good heat, good light.he doesn't eat his greens that i've seen.and another question,if he's 7 months old and never grew at all, what ratio of bugs and greens do i give him.he looks like he did at birth.he is a common inland bearded dragon and much loved.

This is really strange. He has approximately 10 % of the weight other dragons of that age often have.
In rare cases there could be dwarfism, like in any living being including humans, but it's better to check out any problems that could be fixed - especially as you are worried too (which I would be also!) and he isn't opening his eyes now.
Could you let us know about the lamps you are using? If you don't know the brand anymore, a photo of those lamps would also be helpful, to check just in case somebody sold you the wrong type (happens!).

The head of your dragon looks a bit unusual (it is very short and round). Could you post a picture showing him from the side and front?
Do you keep also other bearded dragons (I assume from the photo - or is this when you bought him?), and how are they doing?

Your UVB and surface basking temps are crucial here --- NO coils for a UVB please and how are you getting your surface basking temps? NO stickons you want a digital probe thermometer

Yes I agree. I did my research and it is really crucial. You want an Arcadia 12% for a 40 gal and 12% for a 120 gall. Minimum tank size is 120. 4 x2x2. I will post a chart for the bulb and hood size. Arcadia 12% t5 ho DESERT BULB. NO shade dweller.

yes,we have 8 other beardies, but he lives alone.all are vibrant and a blessing.i did not by him,he is hand bred and very hand raised.the mother had 30 eggs all but 4 hatched.all our beardies except mom are from the same 2 clutches and have the same head shape.one juvenile has a small nostril infection, but we have it under control.he got mealworm in his nostril and i didn't think anything of it.then the nostril got clogged when it dried.i have him on antibiotics.we use 60 watt heat bulbs on bob,the runt.have you ever heard of one so old and so small.i can't decide what the ratio of bugs and greens should be so i let him pick.does it go by actual age or size?he looks just like a hatchling.his weight and length never change.i hope the issue doesn't cause development problems.,

he is in a 20 gallon tank because he is only 10 cm before his tail broke.his body is 5.2 cm.total now is 7.5 cm.a 120 gallon tank would be absurd.he only weighs .15 of an ounce.thats 4.25 grams.and as you can see ,he is kinda chubby.

Hi there, sorry to see the poor tiny thing. He has failure to thrive but even beyond that he may have been clogged up from eating a mealworm in the past [ being weak and tiny ] Even if he had the desire + appetite to eat it mealworms are not a good staple for small babies. Sorry to see that his tail was bitten off, keep some raw honey on it so it doesn't go septic.
It would be good to take the water dish out, this baby is disoriented and just like a very sick young child can easily drown in it or develop scale rot from soaking in it.
Although you want him to survive and care very much for him he may not make it. If he does he will always be very small and have some type of health problems. You're doing your best though. Can you post a pic of his set up ?

i was taught to put unbleached flour on an injured tail.they have sugar issues and honey seems kinda an odd choice.i went to school at the university of pheonix to be a veteranary assistant, and used to own a pet store/reptile breedery.

No,flour or corn starch might be used just to stop bleeding. Raw unpasteurized honey is well known in veterinary and human medicine. It can stop infection and promote healing as long as tail rot hasn't set in. There's even an entire thread on the benefits of honey stickied I think it's in the feeding forum.

Yes the O.P bred them. Poor little guy is not a dwarf, it's failure to thrive and has other serious health problems.
