I know beardies should be able to get within 6-8 inches of their UVB lights. I have a Reptisun 10.0 in an aquarium hood, and when he's on his stick basking he's within 6-8 inches of the hood, but he's not directly under it. His heat lamp and UVB light are parallel to each other because the UVB runs the length of his viv. Does the UVB extend from the hood in all directions, or does he need to be directly under the light?
His stick has been duly re-oriented and I will watch his temps to make sure he can still bake himself. I'm thinking of getting a vine or something for him to climb, which will encourage him to be under his UVB even more. He keeps trying to climb cords during floor time, the little goof.
