My boyfriend just got a 5 month old beardie yesterday and today when we set her back in her viv, she jumped off her branch and started eating her poop. Then she started twitching. Sort of like convulsing. She'll stop for a while, then it starts back up. Her front legs and back legs do it and she's breathing heavily. When you set her on the bed she just lays there, sprawled out and barely lifts herself up. Then she began moving in circles, like a dog when they chase it's tail.
She's in a custom wooden enclosure, lights are all good. Have a vet app at 3, but we're really worried. Anybody know what it can be?
Double check the temps.,heat stroke is a possibility. List the temps. on here, also the lights and set up. Have her blood calcium level checked. Also, neurological problems can be from inner ear infection, toxins, etc. Not to be over-looked, it could be that the dragon had previous head trauma....being dropped or something before you bought it. Occasionally, eating a too-large prey item will cause some neurological problems, the dragon swings it's head back and forth as if it can't hone in on it's prey, acts a little dizzy.I hope your vet is experienced with reptiles, and I hope all goes well for you !
