hey im right now in the process of building my beardie a new viv. but im stuck on how to do the doors, so i was hopping maybe some of u guys would have some ideas because i wana have 2 hinged doors that swing out making the whole 4x2 front open for easy cleaning, but im having a hard time thinkng of how to get the 2x2 doors to work...
Im making the same size , Im going to make mine sliding doors on tracks . It will be the easiest and safest way for such big doors. Thats just my opinion. good luck.
No sure how to explain it....Know exactly how to do it in my head, just not very good writing it down
Basically you will need 4 hinges (similar to the type that normal doors in your have but smaller versions lol)
depending on how your viv looks etc depends what is hinged. Im currently looking at building one with oak panels and hinging to oak doors on the front with glass panels in the center of them. You can get the glass cut at glaciers and fit yourself with window beading.
Sorry if that doesnt make much sense
The simpliest way as said is to just have two sliding glass/plastic doors
Slideing doors glass or plastic are the easiest but....you can make hinged doors too. Take this into account when you make them. In between the doors there will be a slight gap when they close togther. you will need a small peice of wood to cloase that gap, instead of having that peice be in the way while you clean the tank you connect it to one of the doors on the back side of the door, that door closes first and the second door overlaps that small peice. That small peice will be the same heght as the door it self. At least thats the way i would go about it. If your a visual person look at some furnature in a store like Target or Home depot, you will see what i mean on most of the doors matching your description. Good luck bud.
