I just moved Rexi out of her 20 gall tall tank to a new 40 gallon tank from Zilla yesterday.....it's all setup BUT i'm having lighting issues and I need some help and advice PLEASE.....
this is her new tank
Where she is laying the temp is between 100-105 (hoping to build her something this weekend to raise her up a little)
BUT on the other side of the tank i'm getting this
These are the lights im using
HOW DO I GET HER TEMPS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE TANK UP.....
Get rid of the compact UVB... tubes are much better, And im not sure but i think UVB give out a tiny bit of heat, well mine do.. might boost your temps up
I have the same 40 gal breeder and use a 100 or 150 watt heat emitter from zoo med. It's over the middle of the cage, with a regular household 75 - 100 light bulb over the basking spot. I have four tanks set up this way and all of the temps stay just perfect.
Definitely get rid of the compact UV.. I just rehabilitated a friends beardie back to health that had a severe calcium deficiency and an eye infection that was caused by the same exact bulb. (the eye infection was) The reptisun tube bulb will put out some heat but you could also just get another household bulb and put on the cool end thats what I had to do..

U will want to get the Reptisun 10.0 fluorescent tube bulb.. The cheapest plaace to order it is petmountain.com.. If u order the 24" u can find a cheap fixture @ walmart to fit it for around $8.. And u can use the industrial strength velcro to mount it inside the tank.. Hope this helps
