Hi all Our beautiful boy is now just over 18 months old and his weight has been pretty much exactly the same since last summer at just under 400g. He is active, good appetite, poops every few days and to us he looks like he is thriving. His heating and lighting are spot on (taken lots of advice on this in the past) and he has been in a 4x2x2 zen habitat since last summer. He eats greens every single day and around 15 - 20 crickets (or dubia equivalent) every other day, with regular calcium dusting. He gets blueberries and wax worms as his treats every now and again. We have absolutely no concerns about him at all and if I didn't research bearded dragons and continue to keep myself as educated as I possibly can, I genuinely would not be questioning his weight as he looks perfectly healthy to me! 390g just seems at the very low end of the scale though and I have seen dragons weighing over 700g which is a huge difference! He did brumate between October and December which I wasn't expecting with him being relatively young, and he lost about 7g during that period. I wondered if he might gain that back and then continue gaining weight after brumation, but he basically gained the lost grams and has stuck to his original weight every since! Is it likely that Lemon is just genetically a smaller dragon who is conscious of his waistline? 😂 I have attached some recent photos - thoughts appreciated!
