Hi, I'm building a 136 gallon from scratch next week and need advice on bulbs, I'm definitely considering a MVB, either megaRay or T-rex. I basically just need to know what kind of wattage I'm going to need. My tank is going to be 48X27X24 (LXWXH) What kind of wattage am I going to need if I keep the Bulb on the top of the cage (24'' high)?? Also. What's better? MegaRay or T-rex? They both look to be good but there might be some differences I don't know about.

I think the Mega Ray is better. I like the heavy lens on the bulb and it just seems to have excellent quality. You will definitely need the 160w if you're going 24" high, I believe the recommended distance is 18". Also, reptileuv.com is a smaller company with personal service so if you ever had a warranty issue, he would probably work with you better and faster. My opinion, Cheryl

No, it will be fine. That is the minimum distance. Here is what their website says.

Specifications
Mega-Ray® SB 160-watt narrow-flood all-in-one is a 160-watt SB Par-38 True Frosted Flood Lamp. A true flood lamp, it will disperse usable UVB in a 30" circumference at a 20" distance.

MINIMUM distance setting of 18" will produce approximately 150-200 microwatts per square centimeter (uW/cm2) of UVB and 900-1200uW/cm2 of UVA.

MAXIMUM distance setting of 24" will produce approximately 50-75 microwatts per square centimeter (uW/cm2) of UVB. (Distance is measured from lamp face to basking spot or reptile for optimum UVB and heat.)

Hey! I'm planning on ordering a 4x2x2 for my next beardie but I'm worried about lighting. I have a UVA and a UVB but they are small (the UVA just being a bulb and the UVB being 12 ish inches?) My house is drafty so I need a strong light that puts off quite a good amount of heat, any suggestions?
cookie event at my library today, quite fun! Made some bracelets for my comrades too, to give them at church in the morning. Got a busy day tomorrow even though I’m off work… i go back on tuesday so atleast I’ll have 2 days off to rewind….then back to hell lol
