I recently joined this page and posted yesterday concerning a rescue..still trying to post a picture of hiessenburg..I will get it..but today I went to my local pet store and was asked if I wanted to buy a baby bearded.. too which of course I said yes.. then to my surprise I was shown a tank containing what I believe to be one week old babies..well I brought one home and only because I figure if this guy is prepared to sell one week old dragons then I could at least save one from what will surely be demise.. no name yet but cute as a button and very happy with his new accommodations. Just like all my other friends AKA ( my pets ) this beardie will be very well taken care of.. I have all the correct equipment and am becoming very knowledgeable..as soon as I figure out how to use photocopy I will post some pics of all my friends..
1 WEEK? geez. He's going to be super fragile. It upsets me that stores treat animals that way. I wish you the best in raising another happy dragon! Please let me know if you have any questions.
That's why I joined this group. People with knowledge about my passion.. he is very tiny but active eating well and went straight for his water.. Thank you for your support..
That's so young ... What is the average age for adoption? A month? According to the PetSmart employee, Smaug was supposed to be about a month old when we adopted him. He's our 1st BD, so I'm not very familiar with them.
I'm glad that you took him/her ... He/she will have a better chance with you, I'm sure. This site is great; everyone shares info and advice. I wish I would've come here before I bought Smaug's set-up; I've had to change out a few things that came in the so-called "BD kit".
I am trying to find information on how much how often this little guy eats.. first day he at good about ten .25 cricket.. had two bowel movements and today seems totally uninterested in any.. is this normal ?

I wish I knew. I have never dealt w/ one so young. Can you try the pet store that you bought him from and ask them how much/often the others eat? He may be having an adjustment issue with new surroundings.
Also, you may want to post a thread under the "feeding" forum. There are people on this site who breed them, and they may be able to answer that from experience.
I got my beardie from a (hobby) breeder and i could take him home at 8 weeks.
i've heard young beardies may eat what they want in 10-15 minutes. and for him i reckon very small crickets and very small greens. It is very important that he learns to eat greens asap cause else therse a chanche he won't eat it later on The breeder i got mine from used endive , even on the newly hatched ones , and they loved it!
Good luck with the posting of the pictures. Imageshack is really simple! https://imageshack.com
And good luck with your beardie too!!
And this may be a silly question but did you go or are you planning to go to a vet specialized in reptiles? They can check the beardie and if you take some poo with you , check for parasites etc...
