Do not listen to the pet store people- your dragon is a baby and needs the supplements please give the baby the calcium D 3 - your uvb is going to help him absorb/ synthesize the calcium your feeding- he needs the calcium now as he is growing and w/ the correct uvb and correct placement and distance it's going to ward off mbd and other illnesses - the uvb is in the tank? Getting it next to the basking bulb would be ideal- if you can't he's going to go to the light he needs --your basking bulb should not be any closer than 6"-- if you can raise the basking decor to get the temp to 105-110 that would be good if not get a higher wattage bulb but make sure your using a digital probe thermometer- no questions are too dumb- if you need help then please ask but those people at the pet store do not have a clue about raising a dragon-Ok. This guy at Petsmart yesterday said NOT to use the calcium with vitamin D because my little guy has the uvb bar. Also, do you think I should place the uvb light right next to the basking light? So that when he's basking he is also directly under the uvb? Or where I have it in the middle is good? In the middle towards the back is where I have it now. Sorry for all the questions. Just want to get it right. I switched to 100w basking bulb. His high spot is now 100° F. Still not hot enough I know. So should I make his basking spot higher? It's already 12 inches under. Can it be closer? Or should I add a ceramic heater or something? Thanks again in advance.
