Does the fixture for the UVB have a reflector? that would be a shiny piece behind the bulb looks like tin foil - w/ it being a T 5 it should be changed out every 10 - 11 months -- the basking bulb should be changed out when its no longer keeping surface basking temps to what they need to be ---...

If she has an option of distance shes going to choose where is most comfortable for her

Shes more than likely stretching her beard which is normal -- and yes the UVB will stimulate the appetite also her colors will be more vivid

What was your dragons behavior the last few days? Has he been sick lethargic? Its shocking to find them like that and I feel for you --

She's little and needs to adjust to her surroundings - handle her in her tank holding her little at a time-- hand feeding us good - what's going to speed things along will be correct surface basking temps and uvb -- No coils please--

That would be 60-66 F degrees--- a little cool for her -- her temps in the tank should be 105-110 F surface basking temp taken w/ a digital probe thermometer--

What was the temp outside? Shes really young to be taken outside-- how long have you had her?

If the screen on the tank is a fine mesh please either take the screen off or put the uvb inside the tank - for a T 5 12-15 inches directly above the basking decor - the screen blocks approx 30% of the uvb rays

The bottom log is 8"? She should be fine she will move if its too strong -- watch her behavior - what is it to the floor of the tank ?

I would put it away from the ends you dont want the wire slipping off the end and landing in the tank

Ok so you can get some picture wire hanger from a craft store and use that -- wrap around the fixture -- its bendable - people also use long plastic zip ties -- I recommend the picture wire --

Do not take the reflector off- it strengthens the uvb which is good and what you want--- get it as close to the basking bulb as you can - you don't want the fixture on the wall- it needs to be placed off the wall if putting in the back
