    Any reputable cricket delivery companies?

I've been ordering crickets from rainbowmealworms. They have a pretty large selection of stuff. Dubias are better overall but are still pretty expensive. I dunno what changed or why, but replenishing my colony has gotten vastly more expensive over the last year.

I did a thing - Custom enclosure and stand

I quickly learned that, lol. I didn't want to invest in a belt or orbital sander and the little mouse was taking forever. It was a pita to control. I wanted plenty of room to hide all the lights and stuff without sacrificing the 24" of usable space. I ended up shrinking the light area during...

I did a thing - Custom enclosure and stand

Complete pic: Full album: https://imgur.com/a/vcmFxhw What do you think? My daughter and I probably have 4 months invested in this (at least from start to finish). Between school and life we worked on it when we could and we're happy to finally be done. Bonus:

    Where to place water bowl?

No water bowl. We tried it for a while when ours was younger but she never used it. She gets plenty of hydration from food baths.

    Dubia shortage

Just a headsup there seems to be a national shortage on dubia. If you're not running your own colony consider supplementing more crickets or other feeders for a while.

    Fake Rock Structure Alternatives

Nothing wrong with clay or other hardened materials, you just wanna make sure you seal it. Keep in mind some kinds of soft woods are bad (like pine).

    Trying out biodude

It's a good substrate. The rebuild I'm doing now isn't bioactive but the next one I plan to do will be.

How long to leave the lights on/time of day

My lights are on at 8am and off at 10pm. Our house is active during those times anyways. I have two different timers though and phase the UV in later and turn it off earlier (like 9 to 9).

    potting soil for bedding?

Lookup biodude and his terra Sahara substrate. It works great for dragons and plants.

    Drainage Layer

Sorry I'm late but look up BioDude on YouTube. He makes a premixed substrate called Terra Sahara that does not need a drainage layer.

    Rock Wall

They are all pretty much custom jobs. It's really not hard, but is definitely time consuming.

    Simulate sunrise/sunset with LED's

The more savvy IT guys would tell you to upgrade your home network to the point where you can establish separate VLANs and separate the IoT and Smart devices. This allows you to limit who/what/when they can communicate and essentially eliminate sending packets "home" (aka the manufacturer).

New Fully Custom Double Stacked 4x2x2

Great stuff spray foam is perfect for this. The black stuff (green can I think) is more dense and will less air pockets in it (so depends on what you're looking for). Home Depot and Lowes both carry the 4x8' Polystyrene boards 1" and 2" thick (maybe other sizes) for around $15-20 a sheet. I...

    My new DIY Enclosure

Looks good, how did you do the glass? I'm working on my new cage right now (just started Saturday).

Curio cabinet enclosure - what do you think?

I'm already building one that's 4Lx2Wx3H. It's just time consuming with all I have going on. I've already built a 2x2x2 base for it to sit on and provide storage but I could always repurpose that.

Curio cabinet enclosure - what do you think?

So I've been slowly working on an enclosure for our beadie as I have free time. However, I recently picked up a curio cabinet for really cheap and thought about repurposing it for a beardie enclosure. The problem is that it's an awkward size so I'm wanting opinions. It stands a total of 6ft...

    Dubia troubles

Only thing I can think of is maybe switching out that purple bulb with a CHE? I know mine love their darkness. My colony is in a 35g (solid black) tote with a CHE mounted to the lid (above my egg crate apartment complex, lol) and they have been reproducing really well.

    Dubia troubles

What is your enclosure setup like? Are you providing them ample food/water, avoiding mold, plenty of areas to hide and climb, heat? What is your colony like? Do you only have the adults? Did you buy a mixed colony? I've had much better success with a mixed colony.

I have a HUGE tank i want to customize

That looks pretty awesome. My daughter and I are looking to do something similar for the enclosure we're currently building. Maybe not so elaborate but we'll see. Below are two resources I saved with helpful information, hopefully they help you too. viewtopic.php?f=75&t=230359...
