Well, he’s a spoiled little sucker already. We got him a nice 40g breeder tank kit with extras we kind of didn’t need but it was a good price. One of the things was a can of dead mealworms that (can’t believe I’m saying this) actually smells kind of appetizing. He ate a BUNCH of em when I️...

He’s shedding!!!! The kid said his legs already shed but now sheets are comfortable no off his back and wow! His colors are brighter! His tail is still dull in comparison, that’ll probably be next. I’ve read it can take day or weeks to do a shed sometimes, but this guy seems to be doing it...

Well, there’s 1000 crickets in my garage. Bleh. So what do y’all recommend i gut load them with? I’ve usually used wet potatoes to keep them alive, but never this many. Also, how would I get them to breed? I don’t know if it’ll happen with the first couple bunches, the dragon ears so much...

Eh, maybe he just wasn't hungry this morning. He made up for it with the fly larvae. He scarfed those. He sleeps under his log. It's so damn cute.

    New dragon

So now I have a question; we’ve been feeding until he stops eating, bathed him twice, made sure his temps are good and he has his uvb bulb. Today I threw in crickets and he’s not interested at all. Kind of lethargic. Could be we got him up too early or maybe he’s going to molt? There do seem...

Fly larvae are a big hit! He loves them. I wish they weren’t so gross.

Well, he’s fairly self-sufficient. We ran out of crickets last night and it wasn’t till this evening he got “meat.” My daughter cut up a bunch of veggies and sprinkled a touch of water on it and he ate it ALL during the day!! So much for juvies passing up the greens. Although I bet he was...

    New dragon

I’ve been doing that with my finger, he doesn’t seem terribly interested. The first time he flicked the water off himself with his foot. We have given him a bath, I’ve heard differing opinions on how often to bathe. Since I gave him a dozen mealworms the first day, I figure we’ll do every...

    New dragon

Well he finally pooped. I was getting worried, hasn’t seen one yet. And holy crap (no pun) it’s bigger than his head!!!

Ew. Maybe I’ll stick to crickets and gut load them. My husband isn’t crazy about the bug situation either. Update; first bath! I wonder if he’s ever had one before, he freaked out a little at first. After the kid held him a minute and drizzled a little warm water on his back, he calmed down...

I was just reading that about mealworms in the feeding section and I kicked myself, cause I bought a bunch of ‘em. I’m going to look into a roach colony (OMG I can’t believe I said that, I hate bugs).

Thanks! Wow y’all aren’t kidding about their appetites. I heeded advice and picked up 40 crickets and 50 mealworms. I threw in a couple at a time, calcium dusted, and he ate 6 crickets and between 10-15 mealworms. And that was lunch! I’ll feed him again with my daughter (she didn’t get to...

OMG I can’t figure this out

I admit, I got this guy a little ahead of schedule; he was supposed to be a Christmas bearded. But he was a good deal and had a great personality, and cane from a reputable breeder - JFKDragons in Petaluma. I appreciate the info!!

OMG I can’t figure this out

I’ve got nothing right now, I’m in petco as soon as it opens tomorrow. I figure I’ll get a short reptisun 10, and I have enough space above the tank to raise it if need be. I’ve read that any regular bulb is fine for uva, that’s what I mean be a white bulb. The silly red and blue bulbs are...

Well, he seems to be settling in. He ate some of the broccoli and raspberries, (we’ll get crickets tomorrow) with the calcium dusting. He’s active, checking out his cage and eyeing us any time we move. He even decided to burrow into my daughter’s sweat jacket pocket.
