I use it wit a red heat bulb and it works perfect but you are correct on it not be ideal. A ceramic heat bulb would be better.

I currently have the t5 10.0 22" bulb mounted inside a 36×18×18 tank. I was thinking about getting the Arcadia 12.0 bulb to replace the 10.0. Is it too much UVB for my tank or would my little Taco benefit from having the extra UVB?
