    Weird question: poop-related glass surfing

Our dragon Rhaegal glass surfs whenever he poops. He’s perfectly happy and calm any other time but on the days he poops, he starts glass surfing immediately and doesn’t stop for several hours. Eventually he’ll tire himself out and stop. By the next day he’s fine again. His poops look normal -...

ALLEGED PROBLEMS WITH REPTISUN T5HO 10%UVB TUBES (IN 2017)

When the time comes to replace my ReptiSun UVB, if I decide to switch to Arcadia, would I be able to put the Arcadia bulb in the Zoo Med fixture? I currently have the 22” ReptiSun T5 10.0 HO in the 24” Zoo Med T5 fixture. Are Arcadia bulbs similar enough? (I know very little about these things.)

    Hornworms as a staple

I'm not sure about the brown dirt. Mine came with a glob of goop stuck to the end of the cup and they climbed up to eat it. There was only mesh inside the cup for them to climb on to get to the food. The ones I bought from the pet store were in the same set up. No dirt or substrate or anything...

    Hornworms as a staple

I got my hornworms from Josh's Frogs on Amazon. They were 25 for $15. Free shipping. They sent closer to 30 to compensate for any that may have died (which weren't many). They had plenty of food in the cup to keep them eating constantly and growing bigger everyday. There were no problems with...

    Chicago suburbs Herp vet suggestion?

Wondering if anyone has a recommendation for an area vet. I'm in the western suburbs of Chicago and am having a hard time coming up with vet options. I've found a place called the Ness Exotic Wellness Center which specializes in reptiles so that's an option. They also practice holistic medicine...

    Our new guy, Rhaegal

Aw thanks! We've never had a reptile before so the learning curve has been steep - I've had quite a bit of anxiety wanting to make sure everything is good for him and will keep him healthy and happy, lol! - but it's been worth it.

    Our new guy, Rhaegal

Here's our lovely little guy who my dragon-loving daughter named Rhaegal. (We sometimes let her watch the dragon scenes in Game of Thrones, lol) Thanks to everyone who has answered my questions so far - you've been a great help and are much appreciated! We finally decided to let 12 yr old...

    Hornworms as a staple

I've looked at loads of sites - mostly purely informative (or attempting to be) - and I continue to run across hornworms listed as a staple. So weird. But now I know. We're adding some crickets to his diet for as long as the hornworms last and I've just ordered a batch of BSFL. Would you happen...

    Hornworms as a staple

I'm still kinda confused as to why I keep seeing Hornworms on feeder lists listed as a staple and yet they're low in protein and too expensive (?) to buy regularly. Also very little feeding info. I'm not interested in raising my own feeders, I just wanna buy them. I have enough pets. Lol I was...
