    Basking question

So this may be a silly question, but my ball python recently outgrew her hide rock. My juvenile beardie had an enormous half log hide in his enclosure so I've temporarily given that to my ball. My question is, can I clean the rock and give it to the beardie for basking? I've heard beardies can...

    Looking for a new substrate!

Yeah, the Home Depot near me doesn't :( :( I asked them to cut some slate tile for me and they said they don't cut tile. Same with the Lowe's in my area.

    Looking for a new substrate!

Where do you get yours? I checked Home Depot and Lowe's and I couldn't find anything smaller than standard kitchen tiles.

    Looking for a new substrate!

I've had my bearded dragon on repti-carpet for about a month. I've used paper towels and fleece fabrics in the past. But I'm looking for something that will make the tank look, 'prettier.' I know sand is almost always a no-go and I don't have the supplies to cut tile (and sadly, the Home Depot...

    Hand-feeding - Question

I have previously posted on here about the trouble I've been having getting my new 6 month old dragon to eat. I tried everything. Feeding in the enclosure, feeding outside the enclosure in a large plastic bin, removing hiding places in the enclosure so bugs couldn't hide, hand-feeding - nothing...

New beardie owner - Introduction and questions!

I'm gonna make sure that the UVB is mounted the correct distance from the basking area. I do have a question though. What do you mean by dangerous? I want to know what to look out for if I get the measurement off by some chance.

New beardie owner - Introduction and questions!

Thank you both for all your help. I actually picked up an under the counter fixture that I'm going to mount in his cage so I can use the reptisun bulb. I'm going to return the hood/50 UVB bulbs. He ate a bunch of salad for his first feeding this morning. I offered crickets and he had no...

    Lighting question

Thank you for all your help. I'll definitely be picking one up. I will most likely switch to a lower wattage CHE for night time only - tends to get low in my house. Nothing crazy but I want to be safe.

New beardie owner - Introduction and questions!

Thank you for your reply. My apologies if I made a mistake - I live in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The UVB is a Zilla 50 UVB 18in T8 bulb. I purchased the zilla hood and it came with the bulb. I had ordered a reptisun 10.0 UVB T8 but they sent me a 24in instead of an 18in. I'll be returning...

I have not even looked for a basking bulb because I was told the CHE was enough. What do yiu recommend?

    Lighting question

The reptisun is a 17W 24in 10UVB T8 bulb. I have not used this bulb because my hood only fits 18in bulbs and I accidentally ordered the 24in instead of the 18in. The zilla hood I ordered came with a 15W 18in 50UVB T8 bulb.
