5 Month old beardie in winter slow down?

Yeah I’m having a tiny bit of trouble getting the temps down. I’m using a 75w bulb right now and it’s still giving off too much I guess. I’m using a digital thermometer with a sensing bulb. Cool side never gets above 85F

5 Month old beardie in winter slow down?

It's been a while since I've used this website so I hope I'm replying correctly. Supers at the moment are the what I'm feeding her since I don't like to use crickets and my dubia colony is a little behind schedule. She is eating a ton of Collard Greens and the occasional blueberry as a treat (1x...

5 Month old beardie in winter slow down?

Khaleesi is 5 months (maybe 6?) old. For about a week and half now, she has been hiding in her cave a lot more than usual. She has been eating like crazy still and will occasionally come out of her cave later in the day, colorful and curious, but will eventually slip back in her cave after...

How many lumens until it's harmful to the eyes?

I am using a halogen floodlight as my basking bulb. The heat is where it needs to be, I just worry about damaging my little guy's eyes. Is there a limit to how many lumens can be emitted from a bulb before it starting hurting the dragon's eyes?

Oh really? Well cool. I'll still try to get it down but I won't worry as much. Thanks for the reply.

    Need help lowering humidity levels

I've already tried that lol. I'm going to try something I found not too long ago. Someone said something about putting a little sealed bag of rice in there. Apparently it worked well for him and the bearded dragon loved having a little chair.

    Need help lowering humidity levels

I use air conditioning. The only thing I can really think of is maybe my floor vents are letting in too much moisture from outside. I've got a few breaks in the metal ducts under the house that aren't repairable. Luckily I work for a heating and air company and my boss said we can flip my house...

    Need help lowering humidity levels

My humidity levels (and the gauge I'm using I really don't trust) gets as high as 75% at night. Usually stays at 60% during the day. I've heard of using rice bags inside of the tank. It might be a dumb suggestion. But would chalk work? I know chalk helps absorb moisture in tool boxes to keep...

    Need help lowering humidity levels

The humidity levels (that the dehumidifier claims) is usually around 60-65%. I can't buy another dehumidifier either. And I live in Oklahoma City, OK. It's hot and a little humid some days. I'm looking into re-sealing out attic in a month or two.

    Need help lowering humidity levels

I'm having trouble getting my humidity level below 60%. I bought a dehumidifier and it only helped a tad bit. Does anyone know any tips or tricks to help lower this?

Both dragons waving to each other

I guess I should explain the situation better so you don't think I'm just blindly letting them run around. My wife and I were both handling each beardie (away from each other on opposite ends of the living room, both were on a temporary rigged harness I made out of paracord; one dragon is hers...

Both dragons waving to each other

They're not housed together and their tanks are positioned to where they can't see each other. I just had them out yesterday to walk around and they began waving.

Both dragons waving to each other

I understand that the waving motion could indicate submission. But what if two dragons (one male, one female, both juveniles) wave to each other? Are they both submitting to each other?

    UVB still good?

I have a ReptiSun 10.0 UVB fluorescent light bulb that I haven't even turned on once since I first got it about 5 months ago (I bought it as a spare). Even though I have not used it, would it still be ok to use? It's been sitting in it's box and I haven't touched it in months.

    New juvenile acting slow?

I feed him in a separate feeding tank (20 gallon) so the crickets don't try to hide in his basking log. I usually like to throw in about 10 at a time and will continue to do so until he starts leaving some behind. I'm sure he's still trying to get used to me as well as his new home. Just thought...

    New juvenile acting slow?

First off, I wish I knew how to change the font of my words like you did lol. And yeah I'm sure he/she is still just trying to adjust. I'll give it another week and hopefully his speed starts coming back. Thanks for your input!

    New juvenile acting slow?

So I recently adopted a new Juvenile Dragon (not sure the age) who is about 7-8 inches long. I understand that new beardies will go through a relocation stress phase where sometimes they will not eat, hide a lot, run away, etc. The first day I picked the little guy up, he ate like crazy. Maybe...

    Possible Female? Need input.

Whoops. I'm dumb lol. Here is Norbert. I've had him/her the longest. I'm not sure of the age. I don't have one of Odahviing mainly because right now I'm trying to help them get adjusted to their surroundings. I just recently got Odahviing so he's a little stressed right now and I don't want to...
