Possible brumation with weight loss questions

Well she is still refusing all food, but her weight has held steady at 330g for the past three days. However, now she is digging incessantly at her enclosure. So today I made her a dig box in case she is looking to lay eggs. Eggs don't make sense since she doesn't look fatter, but I'll try...

I have moved it and placed it on top of the screen lid.

Possible brumation with weight loss questions

It's about 10" from the basking site, unobstructed. I'll try to be patient and give her a few days to respond to those changes. It's hard not to worry when you care about them so much!

Possible brumation with weight loss questions

So I've done 3 days of coccidia treatment (will repeat fecal in one week), steam cleaned AND used a coccidial ammonia spray in both of her tanks. Replaced UVB bulbs with Arcadia 14% +d3 t5HOs. Basking temps are 105-110 and cool side temps are 75-80s with an IR gun. She ate two hornworms...

Possible brumation with weight loss questions

I switched to the Arcadia bulbs today just to be safe. I upped her lights to 15 hours as recommended. I even took her outside yesterday to show her that it is actually spring here in the US... I was also able to get a fecal today, and coccidia was present, so I'm treating her for that as well...

Possible brumation with weight loss questions

I've upped her lights to 13 hours. Im currently using reptisun t5s for uvb, one of which is brand new, but read recently that I the uvb output on those isn't great. I bought arcadias instead. Could this be a uvb issue?

Possible brumation with weight loss questions

I have a juvenile female who is approximately 1 year old. For the past two weeks, she has been hanging out more on the cool side of her tank, or under her hide. She stopped eating her usual BSFL one week ago and stopped defacating about 5 days ago. She was more active then usual for a few days...

Beardie I rescued from pet supply plus

Aww, Joe is a cutie! Reminds me of my mbd beardie. She has "reverse sexy leg" too, lol

    Black on teeth and gums

She is somewhat disabled from MBD, so she doesn't move fast enough and isn't coordinated enough to catch crickets. I've not tried roaches yet, I was sticking to BSFL for the added calcium. I will certainly keep an eye on things and consider supplementing with roaches in the future.

    Looking for Solarmeter Users

This is very valuable data. Looks like I need to switch out my brand new reptisun bulbs for arcadias. Now to research other uses for the collection of unusable bulbs I've amassed ?

    Black on teeth and gums

Thank you. I've ordered the maxi guard and will pick up a very soft toothbrush for her. I do try to mix greens in with her worms, but she's pretty good at picking around them (stubborn beardie!) I have pellets too, but was under the impression that you were supposed to moisten them first. Is...

    Black on teeth and gums

Noticed some black discoloration on my juvies teeth/gums while she was basking. She eats BSFL and occasionally hornworms. I offer salad, but she doesn't touch it. Generally healthy otherwise. I tried gently brushing her teeth with a qtip, but the black did not come off. Anything else I should...

My beardy is dragging his back legs/ stiff back legs?

I'm not an expert, but some of the symptoms you described sound very similar to my beardie with MBD. She has it as a result of improper uvb lighting in the pet store. Her back legs are stiff and almost always straight, and to walk she army crawls on her forearms. I was able to upload a video of...

    Help with temps please

Thank you. So the sharp drop in temps right outside the basking area is okay? It drops from 90s to 80 in a matter of inches. Just want to make sure she has enough options. She has MBD and has difficulty moving around, so I try to make things as easy as possible for her (read: she is completely...

    Beardie with MBD Needs Help

That's great that he has shown improvement! He is lucky to have you. My beardie with MBD has an easier time with BSFL, since they're not as fast and cannot get away from her as easily. They're also an excellent calcium source, which is especially important for MBD. Just a suggestion :)
