ANOTHER UPDATE. Long term syringe feeding?

Thanks, guys. I'm just glad I got to spend the time with him that I did. It's so weird seeing the enclosure lights off! But I know it'll get easier

ANOTHER UPDATE. Long term syringe feeding?

I didn't want to make a completely new thread. We finally came to the decision to have Izzy euthanized. It wasn't easy at all, but he had just given up. Vet didn't have many solutions, and he just wasn't gaining no matter how much I tried to feed. It was wearing the both of us down. I thought...

ANOTHER UPDATE. Long term syringe feeding?

I'm not sure how much longer he's going to be hanging in there. Outside time usually made him super active to where I had to chase him a few times. Now he's been sitting here for about 45 mins. Pavement isn't hot either. It's not a hot day, but I thought some sun time might help. He's just been...

    Concernee with my 6-7yo beardie

Sorry to hear. I know the feeling. I'm in a similar situation with mine. Except he's a bit more active, using the bathroom regularly, but seems to be going downhill regardless of the meds and upping his food. So I'm there with you! Hope yours gets better. It does take a long time. I had a...

Would You Change Your Beardie's Name Based on Gender?

Funny. I think my two youngest are actually female, but we already named them Vincent and Julius (after the characters in the movie Twins). We tried Vicky and Julia, but....it's just not the same. Lol

ANOTHER UPDATE. Long term syringe feeding?

I also noticed his eye when I watched the video after recording it. I hadn't noticed the eye before. He's been doing it for maybe a little over a month. It lasts a few seconds. Usually when I go to feed him, he'll do it and I drop some food in. He stops the twitching and seems like he starts...

    Concernee with my 6-7yo beardie

My guy had a long blonde hair in his mouth once (I'm brunette). I thought it was just a small piece, but I pulled it and it just kept coming out. He did do something similar when I pulled it out, minus that kind of head shake.

ANOTHER UPDATE. Long term syringe feeding?

Yes, panacur is the one. And yeah, he suggested two soaks a day. On top of that, after I feed him I just give him water via syringe and mix his food with a little more liquid. I got a video of his little mouth tic. Not sure if you guys have seen this before. https://youtu.be/B2LOvSLQj0U

ANOTHER UPDATE. Long term syringe feeding?

I've thought about maybe the change and traveling affecting him, too, but I think his new enclosure is better. He's actually pooped a few times in there. I think it's all around warmer and he can get closer to basking. His older one was longer than it was wide and the heat was concentrated in...

ANOTHER UPDATE. Long term syringe feeding?

I was able to have a few free hours this morning and took Izzy to the vet. Unfortunately, he went back to not eating or even being interested in anything. He's in a new enclosure where he seems more active. I also took him to work with me these last couple of weeks and had him outside, which he...

    New Multi-level enclosure

Thanks!! I'm not sure why we didn't check at Home Depot. Lowe's didn't have many options. We'll make a trip tomorrow. I appreciate it

    New Multi-level enclosure

So, we decided to build an enclosure. And by we, I mean my husband lol. He wanted to do most of the work. Since we have limited space we decided on a multilevel one, which will separate our two juvenile beardies, finally. Measurements are 37"(W) x 24"(D)x 16"(H) I do have a question or two...

Thanks!! I'm going to try again with a couple of dubia roaches. He always went crazy for those.
