can i use a piece of wood thats been coated with mineral spirits (to improve its look)? Can i let it air out sufficiently to where its ok? if not is there anything i can do?

The yellow is really visible in the leg picture. I havent noticed her get any darker there, but it was like that when i got her. I tried the qtip thing, and all she did was dart away from me. Im going to invest in some lamisil spray cream(terbinafine).
