I have a new male beardie who is approx. 3 yrs old and um.....well....fat. He needs a name and go!

Green leaf lettuce is okay for beardies but not iceberg. They need a variety of greens, veggies and occasionally fruits. Bugs are a must! The apple juice thing, never heard of that before. I'm not experienced enough to give advise on how to fatten him up but, I know others can help you there...

Thanks. I'm taking things slow with him and he's already showing improvement.

Being slightly nuts is somewhat of a requirement around here :wink: Pekoe is beautiful and looks healthy and happy. Kudos.

Just adopted my third beardie. Rescued this male dubbed, the Grinch, from a pet store that gave him to me due to "severe aggression". He's very skittish, flares, gapes and does the whippy spinny thing. I am working on these issues patiently. My questions are, 1) what are his markings? and 2)...

Looks like he/she may be a leatherback but, I'll leave it to the pros.

Sorry for the late reply. I suffered a terrible loss and have just now come back. Ea is from Drako Dragons.

He/she may just need time to adjust to the new surroundings. It's pretty stressful for them so, as long as all the parameters are correct ie: basking temp., uvb, etc. just give him/her some time. And congrats. on the new family member.

Welcome aboard. I have 3 beardies, 2 of them are babies and they are absolute piggies! I feel like I am almost single-handedly keeping cricket breeders in business :roll:

She looks like a normal scale sandfire but there others here who are much more knowledgeable than me.

I think most of us can relate to the pet store disaster. I know I can :x Good on you for trying to hold them to a better standard. I hope you and "your" babies can get it all worked out right. beardies are awesome.
