    Alternative Proteins?

Hi all, I ordered 500 pheonix worms for the first time and they are taking longer to get here than expected. I just fed Lola the last of the crickets today and I was wondering if there were any alternative proteins I could give to her until the worms arrive. She normally has about two, almost...

    Orange Feces?

Ok thanks, I was a bit worried about it. At first because of the tiny amount I thought maybe she had thrown up, but then I saw a small amount of urates with it. I suppose its a very small amount because of the fact that after she had a little squash, that was all she wanted, no crickets no...

    Orange Feces?

Hi all, so I recently started feeding my little one butternut squash, and now her poop is orange? And an irregularly small amount. Is it possible that her first bit of squash upset her belly? All temps are normal, I have the correct lighting, she has been eating normally, etc. Basically...

Beardie isn't very fond of new beardie.

I'd put the tanks side by side (that way any extra heat distribution stays around the two tanks), and put a piece of cardboard or black construction paper between the two tanks. I dunno if it's just my girl being silly but I did something like that when I moved her to a viv that was ground level...

    Hanging Out at the Top

My girl really likes doing the same thing! They can get a nice high concentration of heat and UVA/UVB, I think that's why they enjoy it. Luna would get herself as high as she could and then just "butter pat" for a few hours before moving into normal basking mode

    Hanging out with your dragon?

It really depends on the dragon, you just have to carefully explore their boundaries and over time, those same boundaries could very well become non existent. My dragon, which is also my first ever bearded dragon was incredibly skitish when I first got her. I couldn't even touch her without her...

    Few questions about beardie?

My beardie is a female, about 8 months old. Healthy for the most part, the only part I haven't confirmed a 100% on is a parasite check. She has normal temps, properly working lights, in a 100 gal tank, is fed regularly and is pretty active for the most part (she's always been a little on the...

    Wild box turtle on craigslist...ugh?

That's really not a good thing of them to do, they should be re releasing it (obviously not back in the road, but somewhere nearby in tall grass, near water). People always think they're being the biggest conservationist by picking wild animals up and "saving" them, but the reality of it is...

Odin is trying to eat the rocks in his enclosure?

I checked, and they all look fine. I think he just thought they were food or something. He's so used to being fed outside his enclosure that I put him in a new place and he automatically tried to eat everything in site haha. He bit it a couple times, scratched it, licked it, then realized it...

    Suddenly afraid of me :(

My little Odin did this for SO LONG too after I got him....and I finally figured out how to get him to knock it off. While the behaivor may very well be caused by shedding and things like that, that could potentially make him a grumbly gus, in the event that is not the case, go ahead and give...

Training students how to handle bearded dragons?

Allow the dragon to lick you, and don't start when they do so! This is very important for them to get a general idea of who is lifting them up, who is handling them, etc. First time handling them, you should hold them with their tail facing your body, this makes a lot of dragons feel more...

    Lazy baby bearded?

Yeah, hand feeding will do that to them. Feed nothing but greens for a day, maybe even a day and a half. Then, try feeding again. And only do this if your certain it isn't a sight problem. Make sure he has clear, bright eyes and tracks the movement of the crickets when you put them in, even if...

    Loss of appetite, loose poop?

Yeah, it sucks, but he's still young so he needs all the protein he can get. Plus I don't think he's ever had anything else, so I'm not sure he would be willing to switch over to any type of worms. I've heard they are much easier to keep though, crickets are kind of a pain in my butt. Thank you...

    Loss of appetite, loose poop?

I have 2 72w (total combined wattage) floodlights, you can see it in a few of my other posts with the pics of my enclosure. I'll switch over to that dusting schedule, and see if that helps. I did notice that there was a tiny bit of yellow in his urate, so I do need to cut down on the calcium for...

    Loss of appetite, loose poop?

Hi, My beardie Odin has a very sudden loss of appetite.....he went from eating 50+ crickets yesterday (pretty usual), to not even wanting to look at his food today. Added to that he has loose poop, and not a lot of it, which is also pretty unusual. He is 4 months old His enclosure sits...

    Beardie "Shoulder Pads"?

They're so weird!! I noticed Odin's stick out a little when he is feasting upon crickets, they just flap out more haha. Waiting for the day he sprouts wings from them and starts flapping around my apartment!

    Beardie "Shoulder Pads"?

Hi, My 4 month old dragon odin has always had these..... flaps right where his head and "shoulders" meet. They're darker colored, flexible and stick out like little tiny wings. I'm sure it's normal.....but what is it?

Just relaxing after a heavy shed

He's loving not being itchy all the time haha. He sat on my shoulder after he finished the shed, and rubbed himself back and forth repeatedly on my jaw like "you feel that mom?? Soooo nice". Then he proceeded to take a poop on me. You can totally still see his stress marks though, in the last...

    Little Odin :)

Thank you :) he does indeed turn into a mushy puddle of dragon when those lights go on, or when I take him out in the sunlight. He gets quite sleepy haha. He finally shed, his entire torso all in one day, and he's looking gorgeous!
