Going to be Building a New Enclosure-- a Few Questions First

I'm considering using plyboard. Is it fine to use any plywood (like pine) or must I find a different wood? I heard some wood is bad for reptiles when used as substrate so I'm not sure if that extends to the enclosure or not. I'll probably end up painting it a medium brown to blend in with the...

Going to be Building a New Enclosure-- a Few Questions First

Makes sense; I have to clean the grout more than the tiles in my current setup. How is the melamine holding up? I heard that it comes apart more easily than wood. Do the screws/nails stay in well? On wood, should I worry about the type? I know some kinds of wood can be toxic to reptiles. Also...

Going to be Building a New Enclosure-- a Few Questions First

Thanks for the information! Gormagon, what material is your tank made of? My point with the grout floor is that it'll create a rough surface and yet not be able to come loose. Most tile I've seen doesn't have much of a texture to it, except for slate, and I'd like to have the bottom be one...

Going to be Building a New Enclosure-- a Few Questions First

I was planning on making a 4x2x2 enclosure this summer for my bearded dragon, but this is my first time so I'm not completely sure how. First, I wasn't sure what to make it out of. I see people are using melamine and plywood but I'm not a fan of either. I heard melamine doesn't stand up really...

    Is this an infection?

Thank you. :D I thought it was mouth rot or something at first but then I thought that would only appear gradually. I'll apply honey and remove loose crickets. Thanks again for the assistance.

    Is this an infection?

He hasn't been doing that recently that I have seen, however his food was spread out and his plants were knocked over today when I got home so he may have been. My background is foam and grout with mod-podge over it, with the area in his hide having sand so to help wear his claws down. Whatever...

    Is this an infection?

This Bearded Dragon is a year and seven months old. I was cleaning the tank today and noticed that the scale on the front of his bottom jaw was turned brown. Is this a color change or is it possible that this is something else? He pooped today (which is why I was cleaning in the first place) and...

Going to be building a new habitat- Glue or Adhesive?

Thank you both for the replies. I used Gorilla Glue for adhesive and Great stuff for gaps. I just finished the grout and move-in day is tomorrow. I will show pictures when everything is ready.

Going to be building a new habitat- Glue or Adhesive?

I'm nearly finished with the foam and I was wondering what form of glue or adhesive to use? The only thing I've used which works with foam is Gorilla Glue, but I wasn't sure about fumes, etc. My rock formation will be coated in grout. Thanks.

Going to be building a new habitat- Glue or Adhesive?

Thank you. I chose that kind because it was well-textured and looked like rock.

Going to be building a new habitat- Glue or Adhesive?

Thanks, Taterbug, for your reply. I have considered going bigger but right now I do not have much space to do so. The false rocks, however, will not be large. Perhaps I will build the crossfire in the future. As for tile, is porcelain okay? I found a brand called "Roman Stone" I liked. As I'm...

Going to be building a new habitat- Glue or Adhesive?

My bearded dragon is quickly outgrowing its 20 gallon tank and I am going to begin construction on its permanent 40 Gallon habitat.I'm not sure, though, of a few things. After reading about the risks of sand, I was considering placing tiles on the floor of my tank. Is there a particular kind to...

Not sure if I have a problem

Thank you, CooperDragon. I have found this forum quite useful and will definitely use it in the future. :D

Not sure if I have a problem

Thanks. I'll try the dropper/syringe. I just hope s/he will cooperate. :) The entire underside, as well as the beard, are sometimes marked, in the morning and evening, but the marks are no longer as defined as they were.

Not sure if I have a problem

Thank you. I will photograph it momentarily. Pooping is regular, though today it is less watery (could just be from heat from lamp, though). EDIT: Picture:

Not sure if I have a problem

Hello, I had just found this forum while researching problems I am having and found the ER board a very convenient idea. As for my dragon, it (not sure whether m/f) is at least four months old and about 11 inches long, not to my knowledge a particular breed, just a 'natural' one. I'm not sure if...
