    Completed Enclosure from Dresser!

It is the latex based Drylok. It holds up well to my beardie's wild actions hehe. I screwed all 3 of my pieces to the melamine boards that made up the "shell" of my tank. They aren't attached to one another at all, and I can take them out to clean under them if need be!

    Completed Enclosure from Dresser!

This is what I started with: A $75 dresser from a peddler's mall. Took all drawers out Stapled screen on the back top for ventilation (out of site) Knocked out the pieces of wood in between the bottom drawers to get the "shell" of the "tank" Took the top drawers out and cut the backs off...

    Completed Enclosure from Dresser!

Sorry it's been 2 months since I last looked at this thread! I work and have 4 yr old twins, so I'm pretty busy :) I have lots of pictures to upload, basically from start to finish on this. Once I figure out how to do that, I will explain my process along with the pictures :) The rock...

    Completed Enclosure from Dresser!

Thanks a lot! :) It's actually in my basement, has sliding glass doors, and the lighting is mounted to the inside top of the dresser. My ventilation is on the upper back side of the dresser. I wanted everything hidden to make it look like a nice piece of furniture :)

    Completed Enclosure from Dresser!

So, here it is, completely finished, with trim and tile added! Photos taken with a Nikon D5100 are much nicer than cell phone pictures! haha! And, there's our little man, Rex :) He's such a cutie and we love him!

    Completed Enclosure from Dresser!

I special-ordered it with my dimensions from a local glass shop (River City Glass and Mirror) in Louisville, Kentucky. They had another company cut it, then I just went and picked it up. Was about $50. Any local auto glass place should be able to do it for you. I got tempered glass because I...

Converting entertainment unit into a Beardie enclosure!

Very nice job! It's amazing the things we can do if we set our minds to it! I was super anxious when brainstorming my dresser conversion, but I dealt with problems/issues as I went along and solved them!! I've kinda been eentertaining the idea of putting tile on the bottom of mine also...

    Completed Enclosure from Dresser!

Everything, beardie included, was about $585, from start to finish. The most expensive thing was our dragon :). Hehe

    Completed Enclosure from Dresser!

This is our little buddy Rex's completed enclosure out of an old, solid wood dresser! His 100w basking bulb and ReptiSun 10.0 HO bulb are hidden in the space where the drawers once were! His basking spot is about 105-106 degrees, and his cool side has a nice gradient down to about 80 degrees...

Converting entertainment unit into a Beardie enclosure!

This is my current progress on an old wooden dresser. I gutted the entire thing and the drawers are non-functional. My basking bulb and UVB strip are mounted to the top behind that area (hubby and I can't stand to see equipment). The back is screened to allow humidity to escape, and I used...

Going all out on a Cage. Please make sure I do it right!

I am currently in the process of making my cage out of an old, 5 ft solid wood dresser. My total has been a little over $600! I will post pictures of mine when it is complete so you may get an idea from it! I am currently waiting patiently for UPS to deliver my hot wire foam cutter so I can...

    Help with custom tank please

This looks like good, sturdy stuff, but I wonder if a custom 3D Styrofoam background would stick to it? Or what kind of adhesive I could use to get it to stick! I'm planning to make my custom tank as natural as possible, and cover the back and sides of the tank fully with polystyrene. I am...

    New to Beardies

I am new to Bearded Dragons. Haven't gotten one yet, but I will be making a custom cage from an old, refurbished dresser. I will be posting pics of my process, down to the custom built Styrofoam background. I'm a bit of a DIY geek. I do most everything on my own! I look forward to being a...
