Back in March my family had to put our beloved Bruno to sleep who was with us for 12 years. He was a very big great dane x bullmastiff x ridgeback. He had a lovely temperament however he once confused my guinea pig with a chew toy... and so I never really let him interact with Flyboy in case he...
Tried him with the gents. They were so small he completely ignored them and they stunk out the fridge!! :silent:
He's still fussy with crickets but he will eat them. He also really likes to pig out on silkworms and supers. I wish we had more of a selection of worms over here. I know silkworms...
I definitely think the Reptaid helped. Before I started on that he was just not himself, and with the clean fecal test, weight gain and the fact that he's even looking at the crickets now is a big improvement. :D
If he gets up when the lights go on he's usually basking for around 7-8 hours...
Another update...
I spoke to Elliot about continuing with Reptaid and he suggested another month of it to make sure the coccidia is 100% gone and hopefully get him to start eating more. So far his appetite is mostly the same, he still eats as much in a week that he used to eat in a day. Not...
Quick update!
He's been eating consistently, however only very small amounts. Still no salads.
Instead of the Herptivite, I've been dusting his food with a different brand of vitamins which he will eat.
He's started shedding on his feet and now around his mouth and top of his head is going...
The UVB isn't really centered but it's not right against the back wall. I tried to get it as far over as I could but there were some limitations as there's a light box with a mesh bottom, so I had to find a way to get the lights below it.
He usually gets calcium 5 days a week for the first...
Last day of the Reptaid today, and he's eaten pretty much every day for the past week. He's still very picky, not touching his veggies and might only eat a couple of worms or a woodie, but the fact that he's showing interest again is great and he's starting to get a bit of a belly again!. :)...
This is Flyboy's new enclosure, a Reptile One Saburra 120 w/ cabinet. It's a lovely viv but nothing sticks to the surface, so I can't put his new hammock up. :(
(Lights were too low here, which I've fixed as you can see in the next photo)
They only gave him a couple of drops and said to come back in a week for more. They tried him with some live feeders which he didn't want, but with a bit of coaxing he did eat the pinky.
I'm still dusting his food as he likes the taste and will sometimes eat just to get the calcium powder...
Been a while since my last update...
I haven't been able to get the last fecal test done yet. I've been at work every time Flyboy has done his business and by the end of the day it's dried up and no good.
He is still eating pretty much nothing. Sometimes he'll go after a worm or a roach but...
He's finished the Bactrim, and now we're just playing the waiting game. He's not eating anything (aside from the yogurt) so it'll probably be a while before I can get another fecal test done.
His weight has gone down to around 260g again. Hoping his appetite will perk up soon. The health...
The vet said the meds should arrive tomorrow. Fingers crossed they work! :)
I've started using a syringe to give him drinks now, I'm finding that far more effective than just dripping water on his nose. Hoping a good drink every morning will soften up his urate and should keep him well...
The vet called this morning and said she had consulted with a specialist interstate and ordered in something else they had recommended. It started with a T______? Sulfate. I was hoping she'd ask me first before going ahead with that because I did want to suggest Ponazuril.
I didn't know about...
Got another fecal done today and only a slight improvement. The vet was disappointed that the Baycox didn't work well enough and wants to try something stronger. Been a very stressful and upsetting day with my dog and was really hoping for some good news. :(
Urate was also hard and discolored...
He would be coming around 8 or 9 months now.
He's finished the Baycox. Just need him to poop so I can see if it worked.
Should I continue with the yogurt for much longer? He really loves the stuff, as soon as he sees me coming with the spoon he begins licking  I've been mixing calcium...
I just noticed the inside of his nostril puffing up while he was basking.

Is that normal? I've never seen him do that before.
Since giving him the Baycox his appetite seems to have completely diminished. He won't eat anything at all. Keeps...
His beard isn't turning black as much as yesterday. He seems a bit lethargic. He's back under the driftwood hiding and looks very sleepy, with his mouth slightly open most of the time.
He hasn't eaten a good meal in weeks. A few giant mealworms and a couple of picks at the salad but that's it...
