    Outdoor Playpen

Yes, the open bottom was my biggest concern because while we don't treat our grass so that'd be safe I'd be a little afraid of wild insects getting in. The website says it weighs 24 lbs so I don't think tipping would be an issue.

    Outdoor Playpen

Hi Everyone, I realize it's only February but I'm already looking forward to the warm weather. I want to be able to take Dawkins outside while still keeping him safe. He has a leash but I think an outdoor enclosure would be better. I was eyeing the ware animal hut...

    BP Enclosure Advice

I don't actually have the snake yet but I've been eyeing this male albino ball for the longest time and I think it might be time to break down and just buy him already. It's good to know that others have had success with the exo terras and when the time comes he should be just the right size for it.

    Probiotic Question

You just confirmed my fear, I was afraid that it wasn't strong enough. I was looking at this http://www.herpsupplies.com/product.cfm?id=KV68301 What steam cleaner would you recommend?

    Probiotic Question

He's getting .3ml of albon once a day for the next 10 days and he's getting .15ml of panacur once a week. I had read that a lot of people do three days on three days off with albon so I was questioning that a little. I emptied out his tank and cleaned it out before he came home. Right now all...

    Probiotic Question

Hi Everyone, After I spent a disgusting amount of money at the vet we figured out that coccidia and worms were to blame for Dawkins' colon prolapsing. We think he was infected by a sick batch of crickets that I ordered. The vet put him on albon and panacur. I know albon can be particularly hard...

Bath Questions For Those Who Use Sinks/Tubs

I use a baby bathtub that we had laying around and it works perfectly. It's just high enough that they can't get out without it being an inconvenience to them which is usually enough to stop my two lazy bums, lol. It also allows me to be certain that they are always bathed in a clean environment.

    Tail Rot

Hi Everyone, It seems like I'm in the health forums everyday with this new rescue. He's driving me absolutely crazy. Today while he was in the bath I noticed he was missing a lot of scales at the end of his tail where he used to have several old sheds that his previous owner had never taken care...

    New Rescue Refuses All Food

That's a really old photo of him. Here's a photo of him in the bath a few days ago but it doesn't do a very good job of showing how heavy he actually isI've never really seen a dragon in his condition before. His stomach is massive and drags when he walks and he has what can only be described as...

    New Rescue Refuses All Food

Hi everyone, My latest rescue has me worried sick. He's been here a week and hasn't eaten a single thing. He took one minuscule piece of collards from me the second day he was here and then he refused to eat any more. He hasn't touched a single cricket either. I know his old home used to solely...

    Overweight Dragon

That is him on the left but it's a photo of him when he was 6 months old. His diet was really quite atrocious, he was fed way too many roaches, and he never got any proper salad, calcium, or multivitamins. His lighting wasn't ideal either. I do believe his growth was stunted because of how small...

    Overweight Dragon

So I rescued a dragon today and when I picked him up it was clear there were several husbandry issues. The owner said he will only eat roaches and refuses salad (although her version of salad was kale 100% of the time). He seems incredibly overweight though. Before today I didn't know that it...

    BP Enclosure Advice

I'm looking to build a double enclosure for my lizards so that'll free up a 36x18x18 exo terra and a regular 36x18x12 tank. I know a lot of people use rack systems but I prefer display cages since I don't keep too many reptiles. What size do you guys recommend for an adult ball python? I was...

    Dubia Breeding/Feeding/Care Tips

So I'm adopting a new bearded dragon next weekend and he comes with a small roach colony. I've been resisting roaches for the longest time but I'm finally breaking down and I'm going to try my hand at breeding them. Anyone have any tips on breeding, feeding, or general care? I was particularly...

    Sharing Feeding Bin

Hi Everyone, So I've been looking to adopt or take in a bearded dragon and the thought occurred to me that Dawkins, my current beardie, has his own feeding bin. Do you guys use one feeding bin for all your animals or do you have separate bins for each reptile? By the way I'm not talking about...

    Attention New Jersey Owners

Hi everyone. I was skimming some articles online about the different legislations on snakes when I came across the New Jersey regulation on possession of non game and exotic wildlife. ( here's the link to it http://www.state.nj.us/dep/fgw/pdf/permregs.pdf ) apparently if you own any reptile...

How Many Crickets To Feed Debate

It seems like my dragon is in shed once every week or two. If you google bearded dragon growth rate or growth chart you'll get an idea of whether or not things are normal. This is the growth chart I've been using http://www.dachiubeardeddragons.com/dragoncare/growthcharts.html . For the first...

How Many Crickets To Feed Debate

Hi everyone! I thought it'd be interesting to see how many crickets your dragon eats. I'm particularly interested in how many crickets dragons under one year of age eat. I did about 6 months of research before I got my beardie and everyone I talked to (at expos and reptile shops, not...

    Double Enclosure Tips

While I appreciate your concern you need not worry. When my baby brother was born a little under two years ago I made the decision to stay at home and commute to college so I wouldn't miss him growing up. It's difficult enough being nearly two decades apart let alone living in another state. I...
