    Cage size and lighting

Is it ok to have a baby/juvenile in a 55 gal tank, in other words, the tank you'll be using for him as an adult? Or do they need a smaller enclosure? If I go with big, should I section it off or just let him use the whole area? Also is UVB lighting the only one that is significantly...

    Several questions

    1. Do they poop after every meal? 2. How long after eating? 3. And do you need to wait to handle them before or after feeding? 4. What are the concerns with feeding in their home versus a separate container? 5. Is there a reason to hand feed or to avoid it? (like will they become conditioned...

Does anyone use pellets or freeze-dried insects?

I guess I didn't know what the difference was, just saw the terminology used. Ashley thanks for the pics, he looks amazing, and that leash is priceless!

How do you avoid handling bugs?

What kind of gloves work? Just regular non-powdered latex?

How do you avoid handling bugs?

Rodents are fine, I have a cornsnake. I'm not squeamish or anything around bugs, it's just the creepycrawliness sensation of them on my skin. I know I could grow into it but handling then with gloves or tongs would have to work for awhile.

    Suitable or unsuitable?

I figured that might be the case. Is there a way to close my own thread?

    Suitable or unsuitable?

I am working out the logistics of whether I can and how I would keep a Beardie. I live in a one bedroom apt in Tucson AZ and I have an outside storage closet on my patio. I am curious as to what feeders I could house out there with relatively low maintenance. Tucson is hot, right now it has...

Does anyone use pellets or freeze-dried insects?

Very good info guys I appreciate it. When you freeze the crickets do you literally just stick them alive in the freezer? What kind of container do you use? Any reason you haven't done this with dubias? And do worms need to be gut loaded as well?

    Ambient heat?

I live in a 2nd floor one bedroom apartment. I have a cornsnake in a cage in my room. If i get one i have planned on keeping the beardie in my room but since they need a heat lamp on 24 hours and at a temp above 100 I imagine that's not the best idea. Is there a lot of ambient heat generated by...

How do you avoid handling bugs?

Uros are nice in theory, but they are more ornamental and aggressive from what I've read. I think I could get used to handling them after awhile. I know I could manage wearing gloves, it's the skin contact tht I would struggle with for awhile.

How do you avoid handling bugs?

Kudos to everyone that has no problem handling insects. I can't see myself handling most bugs with bare hands. Is it possible to own a Beardie and not get handsy with the insects? What feeders are easiest to avoid handling? How do you move them when feeding your Beardie? Are there any...

Lil' youngin being stubborn about veggies

I don't even have a bearded dragon but from researching I gather that they shouldn't be eating fruits and veggies until they are a bit older. When they are young their diets consist primarily of protein if not entirely

Does anyone use pellets or freeze-dried insects?

What about pellets, doesn't that cover the nutrients needed?

Does anyone use pellets or freeze-dried insects?

Ive seen some people disparage the use of freeze-dried/frozenthawed insects for Bearded dragons, but rarely an explanation why, nor do people say "you could but its not best" at least. I understand Beardies hunt/eat via sight, and that babies need live but i dont understand why...
