    Stop Pooping on my Bed!

You could try letting him poop in the bath before putting him on your bed. There are a lot of beardies that poop in the tub when they are in warm water.

    General enclosure questions

Hey Lauren, I would stay away from the command strips. I'm not sure how you are going to mount a hood to your melamine enclosure... I had a melamine enclosure years ago and used a simple 4ft florescent bulb holder (something you would use for a desk or something) and had a 4ft uvb tube. It...

    Newby and sleeping positions

Some experienced breeders can tell at a very young age, but you should be able to tell for certain right around 5 months or so. When you lift the tail, males will have 2 bulges on the each side of the tail just behind the vent, and females will have a single bulge in the middle of the tail just...

Beardie hiding under rock all day and not basking?

Those are actually some of the best ones available. If he is eating like normal and going to the bathroom like normal, I would just keep an eye on it. You could always try giving him a warm bath as well.

Beardie hiding under rock all day and not basking?

He is too young to be brumating then. How are you getting the temperature of his basking spot? An inaccurate thermometer could be off by more than 10 degrees, and it may be too hot for him to bask comfortably.

    Stiff Back Legs

I'm sorry to hear this! The open mouth usually indicates that they are too warm, and are releasing excess heat. It is the way they regulate their body temperature from becoming too hot. Weak and/or stiff legs can be a sign of MBD. How long has she been without any UV light?

Beardie hiding under rock all day and not basking?

How old is your beardie? If he is adult, he may be starting to brumate. While many dragons do brumate during the colder months, I've had a few that would go from March-end of May every single year. Not all dragons brumate the same either...some take long naps for a few days, wake up eat/bask...

Got my beardie yesterday and he hasn't really eaten

Hi Samantha, and welcome to the forums! How old is your newly acquired beardie? If he is young, he is probably stressed from being in a new environment and new enclosure. Moving him into a tub may stress him out even further. My suggestion would be to feed in his cage, but block off half of...

    Ceramic Heater

I understand. I would spent $20 on an infrared thermometer, as they are the most accurate. Beardies need a temperature differential from day to night, so as long as the temperature in her tank doesn't drop below 70 degrees, she will be just fine!! :D

    New Owner. Needs Help.

No problem! At 6-7 months old, just think of him as a teenager

    Ceramic Heater

A 50 or 60 watt CHE should be plenty. I use a 60W CHE for my 180 gallon viv and it heats it just fine. What kind of temps are you trying to reach? You really only need it if your house temperate drops below 70 degrees at night.

    New Owner. Needs Help.

Hello and welcome! A lot of young bearded dragons aren't too keen on being held a lot. Keep doing what you are doing, and I'm sure your beardie will begin to trust you more once approaching adulthood. If he isn't showing any signs of stress, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Enjoy the...

    Ceramic Heater

You are correct, your beardie won't brumate before she is an adult. Which brand/wattage CHE did you purchase, and how large of an enclosure are you attempting to heat?

    Bubbles around mouth?

When I have experienced bubbles, they were linked to a respiratory infection. It sounds like she is breathing normally and not wheezing, etc. If she is otherwise eating/acting normally, I would just keep an eye on it. Take her to a vet if it continues for more than a day or so.

Introduction w/ Some Questions From Newbie Owner

I've never used the Exo Terra terrariums for beardies, so I don't have experience with that first hand. The only thing I can think of maybe purchasing the hood/light assembly that Exo Terra sells. I believe that replaces the screen mesh top, but I'm not entirely sure. Maybe someone else can...

    New Owner Of A Beardy

I totally get it. Try hand feeding him some super worms, silk worms, etc. He may associate your hand as "friendly" and become less shy. Your temps looks good. The cool side could go down to as much as 75 degrees F (24C). As to the reason why 15 minutes is a rule of thumb for feeding, I...

Question about spray foam for enclosures

I've personally used mostly insulation foam for my backgrounds, but have used Great Stuff on occasion. It is safe for animals as long as it is dry. I've heard of some people sealing it with silicone, then adding coco fiber, etc on top of it to give it texture. I personally would use grout...

    New Owner Of A Beardy

Hi Sean, welcome! There are others on here that have had hands-on experience longer than I've been alive (30 years), but I'll answer your questions as best as I can. 1. Everything in the salad looks good, assuming you are talking about bell peppers. 2. Dust your crickets about 5 times per...
