Jace, Zy, Vess, Ava, Nissa, Koth, & Phoenix -->R.I.P. Sorin

Me: My name is Liz. Some of you may have seen my past thread and recent posts on here lately. I'm 23 years old and I'm currently living with my grandparents. My boyfriend, who still lives at home as well, Paul, helps me care for and love these adorable terrors. I'm finishing up my last semester...

    I love you, Sor-Bor

Sorin was a rescue from a Petco in Ct. He was in a cage smaller than twenty gallon with nine other beardies, all about 10" long each. The water dish was filthy with green, mossy poop that the employee claimed he had cleaned not more than five minutes ago, as if I was born yesterday. After...

    R.I.P. Sorin

I'm about to lose my precious boy, Sorin due to a disease that he cannot shake off and spread. This has been the hardest decision I have ever had to make and hope to never make again. During this difficult time I rediscovered this song by Erutan that has been helping me survive this difficult...

    Bump on jaw/chin

So today I noticed that my male beardie (1.5 years old) has this bump on his jaw. This is the best picture I could get of it. I didn't see anything on the inside and it isn't sensitive. It feels kinda like a new zit, if that makes any sense. Also, it hasn't prevented him from eating.

    Stackable out of Furniture

I know technically this isn't for my bearded dragons, but I'm just too excited not to share. My boyfriend and I are turning this armoire I have into a stackable viv for the leos. The armoire is a lot wider than a leo needs so instead of giving them the full 35.5" we giving them 27" and that is a...

    Yellow Fungus

Out of curiosity, can leopard geckos (and any other gecko for that matter) get yellow fungus?

How to work with aggressive or scared beardies

I've noticed a lot of post lately about owners having problems with aggressive/temperamental beardies. So here are some ideas/practices that have worked well for people in the past. If anyone else has any ideas as well, feel free to chime in. I hope these help. :D 1. Wear an item of clothing...

    DIY UTH for a stackable

All right, so I'm going to take the armoire I have and turn it into a stackable cage because I have three beardies and three leos and no more room. So the plan is to put my girl, Zy, on the bottom as she isn't growing much now and is definitely smaller than my two males who I plan to worry about...

DIY Partitions and Laminate Tiles with Pictures

So two of my leos needed an upgrade from their 10 gallon takes. To save room I purchased a 40g tank from Petco instead of two 20g. I decided to post this because even though it is about leopard geckos, I feel like it could be used for bearded dragons if you're in a pinch for room. So along...

Jace, Zy, Sorin, Ava, Nissa, Koth, & Phoenix -->Vet Update

Hello, My name is Liz and I have been a member of this website for a year now. I have had another blog about my reptilian babies (http://www.beardeddragon.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=185026), but am starting a new one. I want to start the new year with a clean slate - especially since...

What to do when losing power in the winter?

Hello, I've been wondering what do we do about lost power in the winter? Winter is quickly approaching and though I have CHE's coming, that won't help if we loose power. Last year we lost power for a day and the year before last we lost power for three days (before my reptile owning). My...

    Sexing Leopard Geckos

Hey, I have two leopard geckos and I'm not a pro at sexing them. Koth - guessed male - 5.5 months old - 8" Nissa - guessed female - 4.5 months old - 7"

    Daytime Leo?

I have a leopard gecko, roughly 5.5 months old and 8" long and he's different than my other two. My other two sleep all day and are up at night. Well this one, Koth, is always pretty much up during the day. I was feeding my TFS in the cage next to his just now and he was watching and I decided...

    Grout Questions

I'm grouting in my slate tiles - how long should I let it air out before putting my bearded dragon in there? 24 hours? 48?

    Hornworms

Hello, Jace is a 9 month old, 18" long male beardie. Recently he has decided that supers aren't good enough for him anymore. I wanted to switch back to hornworms for some verity and see if that will perk up his interest. My grandparents won't let me have dubia and I already have 3 reptiles...

    Beardie Fall

So I had Jace out for close to an hour and was carrying him from my bedroom (where he ran to) to my living room where his viv is. He jumps midway there off (3-4ft drop) my arm and lands solidly on his back I quickly flip him over and he starts shaking like he is having a seizure. He's gaping and...

    Ava Update

Hello, We've had Ava since mid December, maybe a little later than that. We bought the stupid set up at Petco thinking that a starter could would have everything we needed since it matched up with their to-buy list for leos. Anyways, she was on sand but hasn't been on it since...February and I...

    Why?

I will try and make the story short: So I made a friend on here, Kristine, who lives under two hours away from me and she was looking for a True Fire Skink for her son. Her son fell in love with the pictures I posted of my baby. Anyways, I went to the Springfield, M.A. Petco which is one of the...

Vraska - TFS Update w/ Questions

So after talking to one of the Petco employees where we got Vraska, we found out she will be a year old next month. I'm just wondering what changes will we be going through with her. Currently she eats 2-3 large crickets a day. We drop them in in the morning and typically, if she does decide to...
