    Beardie throwing up

LOL, you're right, Shrek got it right. My little punkin has been great all day. No stress, no issues at all and the vet is content with how it worked out. As long as she doesn't do that to me again we will be good. lol It's almost cuddle time so it will be interesting to see how it...

    Beardie throwing up

I just wanted to update everyone on Zoey. She did great through the night, I was up until almost 2 AM just making sure she wasn't making any more noise. This morning when we got her up she was calm as could be, still holding her breath occasionally but she is not wheezing AT ALL. I can't...

    Beardie throwing up

Thank you so much for your kind and caring response. :) These guys sure can make us worry, can't they? I always keep her blanket on an incline and try to get her situated so her head is down but she won't have any of that. She turns herself around every night! lol I have been using a CHE that...

    Beardie throwing up

Thank you so much! Zoey is sound asleep (I made sure she was up, awake and responsive before I let her rest for the night), and I am a wreck. She has been doing this thing that looked just like she was trying to cough up a hair (or hairball) but there was no hair in there. I did have her lungs...

    Beardie throwing up

I have a beardie who will be 3 in May. I've had her since she was 8 weeks old. She's had alot of issues as I got her from a not so great breeder and one of the major issues she had was she was laying eggs nonstop for months. She had to be spayed last March. Another issue she's had is an RI that...

spayed female still has eggs forming.

She looks IDENTICAL to mine. Even her beard. Mine was real thin after the surgery but now (2 months later) she is actually looking fat. lol They get weight back real fast, although you already know most of this since you've been there already. I do love that her belly has no stress marks at all...

spayed female still has eggs forming.

That is so amazing that she is doing so well! :D As long as she isn't losing weight you are in good shape. :) It's helpful to me to get other's stories so I have something to compare mine to. Once the area sheds she will be in good shape again. But since this is your second time around, you...

spayed female still has eggs forming.

That is fantastic news! I am so happy to hear that. :blob5: :blob8: One thing I can suggest (just from my own experience), I would make sure to feed her smaller bugs and cut the veggies a little smaller, just so she doesn't need to strain to poop....that just seems like it would hurt to...

venting a little about care issues

I HAD to get mine spayed or she would have died. She started laying EVERY MONTH not long after she turned a year old and she never stopped...she would lay approx. 30 eggs each month too. When the vet called me to tell me how the surgery went she said that she never saw anything like it (and she...

spayed female still has eggs forming.

I completely get it. Unless you have seen your beardie in this terrible situation and someone brings her back from this, it's impossible for anyone to understand. Just to kind of compare notes on the healing time (Zoey had hers on March 7), how long ago was the surgery? Do you remember how long...

venting a little about care issues

I agree with everything you have said. My beardie was supposed to be my daughter's...she turned 18 and insisted she would take are of her. I knew nothing about reptiles and never even saw a beardie before, I had no idea what they were and how difficult the care is. They are very time consuming...

venting a little about care issues

I'm one of those people who points out the error of a (pet store employee's) ways. lol I've gotten into so many "animated conversations" (the polite way of saying I don't stop until they agree or throw me out  ).A year ago when I was buying my beardie a new UV light (I get them every 4-5...

spayed female still has eggs forming.

I am so sorry about what you are going through with your little girl. I understand your fear....I had to have mine spayed in March as she was producing approx. 30 eggs every month and she was just over a year old when it started. I know I was close to losing her and the vet agreed. When they...

venting a little about care issues

First of all I want to say you have a beautiful beardie!! :D I am so glad you are open minded enough not to believe everything the pet store employees tell you. I have been in your shoes. Infact when I got my Zoey I had everything wrong (except for her cage!). I wish I had kept count of how many...

    help michaelangelo

I would use just a single drop of the oil. I've had to do this also (I think we've all been there!). Keeping your temps warm enough and having an accurate thermometer is very important. If the temperatures aren't warm enough he can't digest. How long has it been since he's pooped? What color...

    Please Help

More important that colors, I would strongly suggest you remove the sand. It can cause impaction as beardies lick (as opposed to a dog who would sniff). What type of lighting do you have? What kind of bulb for basking (heat)? What kind of UV light? What are his temps and what are you using...

    help me please!!!!

Were you able to get in touch with a vet? Is he still dragging his legs? When I got my beardie 2 years ago someone told me to put something in her viv that had our smell on it so she could get used to us. I took a pillowcase and folded it up a few times. Within a few days she was letting us hold...

They are SO SWEET!!!!!! <3 I love seeing the pics. :) By the way, I love that movie too (I recognized those names right away). Just a suggestion, if you are having problems with them getting used to you, when I got my little one someone suggested I put something in her house that has my...
