    burmutation or seriously sick

It does sound like brumation to me, but it would be best to have a fecal exam done just to be sure he doesn't have any parasites. From what I understand, a lot of vets can/will do a fecal exam for you even if they don't normally see reptiles because it's a pretty simple process. If not, you can...

2 new rescues - Jane and Rosalie

I feel like such a slacker for not posting an update on Jane and Rosie for so long! They're both doing well. Jane is almost 16 inches and around 300 grams as of a week ago, and Rosie is 10 inches and around 100 grams (she's growing slowly but steadily, and her fecal exam came back...

Our 2nd Beardie ....Pagona Bob Update

Wow! He looks great :D I don't think he's overly large for his age - I know of several dragons on this site that have reached 18-22 inches by 5-6 months. It has a lot to do with how you feed them, and it also depends on genetics. Some dragons just aren't going to get as big as others. He looks...

2 new rescues - Jane and Rosalie

Thanks Esther! :D I'm not sure if they're staying permanently yet, but I'll have them for at least a month or so to make sure they're healthy before maybe looking for a good home. (I say that now, but I know that in a month, I'll be really attached  )

2 new rescues - Jane and Rosalie

Hey everyone, You may remember that I rescued a beardie (named Poppy) in February. She's doing great! She's now 17 inches long and around 320 grams, and has no known health issues :D On Sunday afternoon, I got two new rescues - a 6 month old and a 2 month old. They both appear to be girls...

Anyone know where to get a Rankins dragon?

I know that Cheryl at Rio Reptiles/Beardeddragons.co has them occasionally, and I believe Carolina Classic Dragons has one for sale on their website right now. There are several big companies that have them frequently as well (like LLL Reptile and Reptmart). Hope that helps :D

    Vacation?

The bin I used was pretty large, and I was able to use the regular clamp lamp. They'd definitely need basking temps of 100-105F or so to be able to digest. I have a clamp lamp with a dimmer, so it was really easy to get the temps right, otherwise you'd probably need to bring several different...

    Baby Dragon Caesar update

Caesar is adorable! That's great that he's settled in and eating well for you! Don't be surprised if he eats even more than that  They're pigs, especially as babies and juvies! Just to warn you, I'd be careful with hand-feeding him - they can get spoiled, and it's a real pain! You...

    buying from online breeders?

That's great! The expo usually will have a website, and will usually have a list of which vendors will be there. If you can, I would try to find out which breeders are going to be there, and research them before going to the show.

Why won't he eat?...Found outside in garden.

Hi, welcome to the site! :) Congrats on the new beardie! You said you had asked your neighbors, but I'm just wondering if you've posted on craigslist or a similar website that you've found a beardie. It's very possible that someone's still looking for him after a week. I've actually heard of...

I am seriously in tears right now!!!!

I'm so glad you got him! In that picture, he looks a bit like my girl did when I first got her. I just wanted to add a few things to what everyone else has told you. You should try to keep the heat a bit lower during the day (especially if he didn't have proper heat with your neighbor, a huge...

    buying from online breeders?

I think the best thing to do when buying from a breeder online is to read the BOI (but take it with a grain of salt), and to speak with the breeder yourself. In addition to the BOI, you can try searching on this site to see members' experiences with different breeders and even see how some of...

    Craigslist rescue beardie

It’s been a while since I posted an update on Poppy. She’s doing great! We've had her a little over 3 months now, and she's catching up to Dante! She’s around 270-300 grams (she’s easily over 300 grams after eating  ), and the last time I measured her on 5/11, she was 16.25 inches. She’s...

Yep, the every nail has to be completely clear (no black line) for the dragon to be hypo.
