I honestly can't explain the temp flux. I am in New England and the temps here do get wacky. We just had an entire week of 70 degree weather and the following week, it dropped back into the 40's. And it's still getting into the 20's at night so the temps in the house do change as I rarely move...

I did test the gun I am using and the readings are the same, regardless of distance. I wonder how much the general temp of the house/room factors in. I do tend to keep it a bit cool in the house. Usually between 65 and 68. I check the temps in the enclosure regularly and his basking area...
