Hiding in his cave, digging more than usual

Yesterday he climbed out of his cage!!! He went on top of his basking rock, stretched up & managed to latch onto the flourescent tube fixture & climbed out. I let him walk around the room for a bit. I think I need a new tank like TODAY!!!!

Hiding in his cave, digging more than usual

Thanks, I am thinking the same thing. He just looks unhappy. I was relying on a friend to drop off an unused 55 gallon tank, but 2 weeks later no tank. I may have to just go out & buy one myself.

    Summer Sleepin'

I wish I saw this post before I posted a new comment. My beardie is doing the same! He's hiding in his cave, digging & shredding the paper towels during the night AND day!

Same problem here too!!! I do not see my beardie eathing them at all. I think I will get a venus fly trap! I love those things!

Hiding in his cave, digging more than usual

Hello, my male beardie is 8 1/2 months old & hasn't been acting himself for about 2 weeks now. Instead of basking on top of his hide rock/cave, he's been inside it during the day. When he's out, he seems to look fine, but I've noticed he's doing a lot of digging & tearing up the paper towels...

    Bathing your beardie with soap?

That's some good advice. I did use the toothbrush with just water on his toes, but it seems the smell is still there. It's a faint smell, but still there. Or maybe it's just in my nose! lol

    Bathing your beardie with soap?

Rango has a habbit of stepping in his poop before I can clean it up. He gets in between his toes, yuck! I bathe him in warm water, but it just doesn't get his toes clean enough. Is there a safe soap I could use to help with the "poop" smell?

Dragon doesn't grow, no matter what!

Oh my. He's 6 months old & 6 1/2 inches long? My boy is 7 months old & about 16 inches long already! Yikes! I've been feeding him Phoenix worms & Silkworms. He loves them!

    Sharp claws, do you clip?

I was wondering if anyone clips their beardie's claws and if so what is the best way to go about doing it without injuring them?

Can I keep a Bearded Dragon with a Day Gecko?

Agreed! Definitely 2 different terrarium set ups. I have a 9 month old leopard gecko that I mist several times a day. I heat his cage with a heat pad on the bottom as they enjoy belly heat. Along with a hidebox, he also has a moist/moss hide box for him to shed in. I use a purple light at...

    Lighting Help for Newbies (:

I just wanted to quickly chime in on the light fixtures. For whatever reason (wrong size, wrong shape?) I couldn't get the command hooks to grip the fixture right. So I went to the hardware store, got some industrial strength velcro, stuck a strip on the glass wall, and another strip on the...

    Humidity too high

I know there was a post somewhere about the humidity being too high but I can't find it so I am posting a new one. Sorry for the repeat. Well, for my 4 month old Rango, I am using a 20 gallon tank, carpet subtrate, 75 watt zoo med bulb with dimmer for the basking side, which reads 105 degrees...

    Too much humidity?

Thanks. I will try that! I've always wondered about the waterbowl. I never see him drink from it. When I prepare his greens, I do mist it lightly before placing the food bowl in his tank so there is a little water in it. How often should I bathe a 4 month old? I've been doing 1-2x a week.
