    Beardie eggs...help!

If you got the beardies from the same place, at the same time, they are more than likely related. These eggs, although fertile, should be disposed of. You can place them in the freezer for a few hours and that will stop the growth. This is entirely humane, since right now, there is nothing...

Do you cut your beardie's nails?

Check out this diagram. You don't want to cut into their live tissue or they will bleed and it will cause them pain. Just the tip is good enough. Also, switching your substrate to natural slate tile will help keep their nails filed down naturally.

HELP! Unidentifiable object in Beardie's slit

It was probably just a sperm plug. Do you have a picture?

bearded dragons don't need a hide?

A bearded dragon should always have a hide available to them. If they want to hide for the day, that should be their choice. Brumation is perfectly natural, and they should be allowed to do it if they so desire.

Hi Ashlee. I sent you an email, but I will respond here as well. They are a cross between a Citrus Snow (from F&I bloodlines) x Red-Headed Pastel (from Sandfire bloodlines). They are 50% het hypo. They were handled every day a babies, as twice a week nowadays, and all are very friendly...

    Black soldier fly

Yes, the flies are ok to feed. Your silkworms will grow faster between 82 and 86 degrees, and with a constant supply of fresh food.

What kind of staple greens does your bearded dragon enjoy?

Turnip Greens are the favorite at my house.

My leather backs produced a normal baby?

A leatherback x leatherback cross will produce about 25% normals, 50% leatherbacks, and 25% silkbacks. Leatherback is the incomplete dominant heterozygote form of the silkback. If you're going to breed, I suggest you learn a bit more about genetics and learn how to do a Punnett Square. It...

Do you believe Beardies get emotionally attached?

Agreed with all of the above. Scientifically speaking, they're just not capable of feeling emotions or developing relationships very well. To them, we are just a giant heating pad that keeps them safe and warm and feeds them. I would say they tolerate us, at best. But it is still fun to...

    Meet Cheif

Hi There! Welcome! I have a Chief too! Yes, beardies can see the infrared light, and need total darkness to sleep well. Unless his temp is dropping below 65 at night, there is no need for supplemental nighttime heat.

    Excitement!!!!!

Exactly! To her credit though, back then the "yellow" dragons were more of a golden brown. Breeders were still trying to breed color into their dragons. So in a way, she was one of the pioneers of the yellow dragon. But I do agree with you.

    Excitement!!!!!

You can chose to believe it, or not. I'm not here to convince you. But she was indeed the one who coined the term. Nobody called their yellows citrus before she did. Essentially, yes, there were yellow dragons before, although not very many at all back then, especially in the US, and Terri...

    Excitement!!!!!

Actually, Terri IS the creator of the Citrus bloodline. People like to throw the citrus name onto any dragon that is yellow (sometimes, oranges and even reds), but that is incorrect. A citrus can ONLY come from Fire & Ice bloodlines. That being said, I do agree with everything else said here...

Beardies Can Eat Anole and Scorpions?

Can they eat anoles and scorpions? They sure can. SHOULD they eat anoles and scorpions? Definitely NOT! Like Brandon said, they live longer in captivity for a reason. It is a shame that Bloodbank chooses to set such a bad example.

    Genetics?

There is actually no leucism gene in bearded dragons (yet). Sometimes, dragons are labeled as Marketed Leucistic, but this is a misnomer for White Hypos. If your dragon is not white with clear nails, then he is not a marketed leucistic. If he has 20 clear nails however, he is Hypo.

Collared greens not the best staple?

Tough love doesn't work for everyone. If he is healthy, you can withhold for 2 weeks. I've only had one case of a dragon who didn't eat any greens at all. She is a pet that I adopted last year at 3 years old from someone who housed her with a group of girls, and she just assumed that she was...
