Reptiworms Smell Putrid...never smelled like this before

Thank you for posting. It's funny you say that because I noticed yesterday that after having fed off a few of them, the rotting flesh/fish smell appears to be gone and it's turned back to it's normal ammo is smell. So, while the packing media was fine, it may have just had too many worms in it...

Reptiworms Smell Putrid...never smelled like this before

Ok I contacted reptiworms and they responded very quickly. That was neat. They said the following: "Hi Denise,It is a normal smell, and is just an off gas that the put, leaving them out at room temperature for about an our is usually enough to get the smell to go away, but there is nothing to...

Reptiworms Smell Putrid...never smelled like this before

Has anyone had an issue with their reptiworms smelling putrid or fishy? I'm used to the ammonia smell but never this. I feel like vomiting now as I air them out after having just received them now. I know they eat dead decaying material, but I've been buying reotiworms for awhile now and never...

    Tank lid contruction (linked)

That's a good solution for people that feel the need to put BP's in a tank. Plexi isn't that difficult to work with either. Good find!

    Massachusetts breeder?

I know of a breeder who is just starting out with beardies in Amherst. I have seen his other lizards and his snakes, and they are in stellar condition and his husbandry is great, but I have not seen the beardies. If you would like his number, I'll give him a call and ask if I can PM it to you if...

The New TND Dragons Banner is on Page 2

ooo those are all awesome choices. The one you picked works well, but I can see how it'd be difficult with those top 5!

    Ball python refusing 2nd mouse.

If he is pretty round it won't hurt to cut him back for 3 weeks or so. It's up to you.The real issue here is the insane price you're paying for feeders. If I were you, I'd order feeders through places like The Mouse Factory or Rodent Pro. Shipping is a tad expensive, but you can buy 1 years...

    Ball python refusing 2nd mouse.

You can leave the mouse in overnight, but you must throw it out the next morning and avoid peeking in and bothering him. He may just simply not want the other mouse though, which is just fine if he is a healthy weight for his age. If you think he needs more than one mouse for his body weight...

    Wild Snake Pet

lol yeah the shark steamer is good. vacuums are my second best friend for cleaning beardie cages. You need to put a lid on whatever container you put the snake in to soak. Snakes usually never willingly soak themselves.

    Wild Snake Pet

Whatever you want to do will be fine :) You know what you're doing and will know what's best for him. You don't have to worry about him not eating until he actually does it. I was just telling you this just in case so that you can remedy it quickly because I often get asked by people how to make...

    Blue tongued skinks

Oh blue tongued skinks are fun little guys! you're going to be very happy. We have one named Elwood :) He LOVES scrambled eggs, fruit (especially grapes, and berries but especially blueberries), and of course his feeder roaches. We mist his cage every day and he laps it up off the side of the...

    Wild Snake Pet

Glad I could help! I wanted to add...make sure the snake or it's things do not come into contact with your clothes during the quarantine period. You can handle it, but be sure to wash your hands (and forearms if you are that worried). Baby mites can easily hitch a ride on your clothes and skin...

    Ball Python Having Trouble

Open her mouth to see if her teeth are OK if you are worried. :) I'm willing to bet she is just not hungry and is defensive striking at it (not purposely trying to grab it, but striking to get it to go away).

    Wild Snake Pet

There is nothing that can be passed from a snake to a dragon unless they come into contact with each others' feces (internal parasites) or external mites. All you have to do is quarantine and practice good hygiene and you will be fine. For an easy quarantine enclosure, put the snake in a small...
