What I would need to stat a discoid colony in Florida?

Where did you get your discoids from? I looked into starting a colony about a year ago and even though they are legal in FL, I couldn't get anyone to ship to me because they were being overly cautious. :banghead:

    Difficult green to digest?

Maybe she just ate them so fast that she didn't chew all of it well enough?

Is Bearded Dragon Cohabitation A Good Plan?

While that may well be the case with many, i don't believe that was the case with my two. For one, when I first got my female, she never went through the relocation stress and not eating. That girl is a pig and will pretty much always eat. Even when she went through her upper respiratory...

Is Bearded Dragon Cohabitation A Good Plan?

My two adults must be an exception to the rule then, because they actually do better when they are together rather than apart. They are male and female and no, they haven't mated and I doubt they ever will. He's a good bit older than her (though she is bigger than him) and is really docile...

    Skin problems

Thanks guys, that was what I was thinking also. The vet told me he thought it was bacterial and not fungal (something about it not showing under a black light). The antibiotic was Baytril at a dosage of 22.7 mg/mL-0.2cc per day. I just don't want to keep giving her Baytril because she has...

    Skin problems

Hi guys, so my poor Zuma seems to not want to get over whatever this skin issue is that she has had going on for a while now. Took her to the vet twice and both times he gave her antibiotics, so before I go and take her back again, I wanted to post some pics here and see if you guys had any...

    Respiratory Infection.....

We went back to the vet today, kinda as a follow up and partially because I was curious about a lump on her back. I thought it was possibly an egg. Our vet, who I think is the best vet I have ever encountered and one of only 2 in Ocala that will see beardies, checked her out, said it...

    Respiratory Infection.....

She is doing a whole lot better now. The noise she was making from her RI was non existent yesterday for the first time in over a month. I am sooo happy about that, because every time she would do it, it would make me cringe. Her tank is directly behind where I work all day, so I would hear...

    vit A toxicity? RESOLVED

This is a baby and only eating 5 crickets a day? :? I would definitely get the vitamins mentioned by Gail. They are the best and the only ones my dragons will get.

    Stupid cat got my jacks!

One of my cats lunged at my Zuma once, trying to bite her head. Kitty got a flying lesson and I spent the next hour inspecting Zuma over and over to make sure she didn't get her anywhere. I was terrified. I hope poor Jacks makes it through ok. *hugs*

    Respiratory Infection.....

She seems to be doing pretty well today. FedEx guy FINALLY got here around 4:30 and I couldn't get that light in her tank quick enough. She immediately perked up. :) Her color is looking a lot better just after a few hours. She was looking pretty dark the last few days. Now she is nice...

    Respiratory Infection.....

Yes, I saw her take off. I sit on the ground next to her basking spot just in case something like that happens, and also to spray her nose in case she wants some water, considering how insanely hot it has been here. The RI seems to be getting better finally. Making that cringeworthy sound...

    Respiratory Infection.....

Well, looks like Zuma is slowly getting over her RI. Still making the little hiccup noise, but not as often. She hasn't been eating too much lately and has been kinda lethargic, so I had the vet run a fecal to be on the safe side. He called a bit ago and said it was negative, so that is good...

    Respiratory Infection.....

I use stone tile for both of my beardies' vivs. Before that, she was on the repti carpet stuff.

    Respiratory Infection.....

Ah, ok. Humidity and improper temps are definitely NOT the cause. I am actually kinda perplexed about what the cause was, tbh. Her humidity never goes above 30-35ish. Her viv is ALWAYS clean (side effect of my OCD, lol), and I don't take her to bask outside on really humid days. I guess...

    Respiratory Infection.....

I did raise the temps and have cut down her baths to once every 4-5 days instead of every 2-3 days. It's made for more cleaning in her viv since she normally goes in the tub, but I'd rather that than make her worse.

    Respiratory Infection.....

Mach10X, I have ordered acidophilliz (sp) and am waiting for it to arrive.

    Respiratory Infection.....

I would think that much humidity would be bad for her, given that in most cases, humidity is a leading cause of respiratory infections in beardies, wouldn't it? Also, her temps are good. Cool side is normally around 85 and warm side is 95 with a basking spot between 105-110. Since she got sick...
