UP is not dragon freindly :(

I was wondering that too...because I'm thinking I'd have no problems shipping to someone in the UP from where I'm at. I'd be more worried about a trip to one of the coasts. :)

UP is not dragon freindly :(

Collard Greens and turnips are both cold hardy and really easy to grow in containers. I have a upcycled tidy cat bucket on my deck where I grow collard greens for my beardies. If you are familiar with cold frames (a window on a wooden frame to make a green house), I bet you could probably even...

rack-type systems for multiple feeder bins?

So do you just affix the flexwatt to each bin? That's the question I wasn't sure to answer for them. I just have two bins using one heating pad (the other bin was a deal too good to pass up, though I only have two and occasionally sell the excess locally.) Really appreciate your answering my...

rack-type systems for multiple feeder bins?

Got a friend who is asking, so I'm wondering, does anyone who has multiple dubia bins in a rack-type system? Would you use a heat tape in that instance? Thanks!

suggested wattage for ceramic heat emitter for night

I read on the CHE where it said it needed a special light fixture, so I haven't made the transition yet. :(

    Must Read Reptile Blogs?

Looking to fill up my Google Reader *smiles* and am wondering if anyone has any favorite bearded dragon/reptile blogs? Thanks! :study:

    oat grass safe?

Thanks. Not looking to feed them to him. Just need a place to put the planter until they grow enough. Figured a corner of his viv would be perfect. LOL! :) Will keep an eye out though.

    Cold Weather/USPS = Urgh Great cust. service=:D

You wouldn't need that much. If you only have one beardie, you could probably start with 20-50 mixed and let them sit for a month or so, you could probably start feeding off from the colony then. I have two beardies and two colonies, and that makes me more than enough to sell either through...

    oat grass safe?

Is oat grass, or the type of grass sold as "cat grass" safe if it accidentally gets munched? I'd like to grow some for the kitties, but really don't have any good windows for plants so was thinking of putting the container in Kimba's home until it grew big enough to put out for the kitties...

    Cold Weather/USPS = Urgh Great cust. service=:D

I'm in Iowa... work third shift and the first winter I had Kimba I had a horrible time even with overnight. I have a bin by my door and if I didn't hear the fedex guy knock, or if he didn't knock, then they'd put them in the bin. Would end up with about 50% dead after putting the box on top of...

    Bearded dragon & a dog

I have cats, no dogs (the cats would freak), but I'd say always keep everyone under close supervision, no matter how "safe" the situation might be. Dogs (and cats) are prey-driven. In working with parrots, having dogs/cats/predators around with "eat-y eyes" as I call 'em (that ooh, a new toy...

Stupid boring winter and lazy sleeping dragons!

Kimba woke up on Christmas. He was quasi-awake so I brought him out so mom could see him since she was over having dinner with us. Apparently seeing "grandma" did it, because he didn't go back to sleep and he's awake and energetic now. :) Hope your guys and gals wake up soon! :blob5:

rekindling your beardie's interest in dubia

Since coming back from brumation, Kimba has been very meh about his dubia. He really loves his supers. Any hints for getting him interested again? Thanks!

    Adding background to my viv

My sweetie is a photographer and does digital art. He's offered to print off poster-size his print (actually several 12x16 posters put together as my viv is 4' long x 2' high ;) so we can make a pretty background for Kimba. My question... 1. I am using foam board and cutting out holes for the...

Would you be intersted in a Beardie Childrens Story?

Send me a PM. I'd prefer you have your own illustrator, and then I'd need to see the story and the illustrations and we'd talk about expectations and such.

Would you be intersted in a Beardie Childrens Story?

*shyly raises hand* In my "other" life I run a publishing company. We've done a few children's color books, though on a pretty specific topic. However, I'd be willing to talk to anyone who would be interested in publishing their work. It'd take a lot of networking and a lot of getting out there...

    Adhesive for tile?

I didn't seal my tiles down, but we grouted and cut everything so it fit pretty snugly. With the grout on top, there's no way things can get underneath, and the tiles aren't budging.

    Beardies, cats and baths......

I have had cats and birds for several years and have also had cats and beardies. My advice would be to watch them very closely, no matter what. When I had all the older kitties (ranging in age from 7-12, and then older as the years went on), they were very "meh" about the birds. They knew the...

    Burmination STINKS!!!

Kimba's sleeping right now, and you're right. It's no fun. I check in on him daily and he cracks an eye open and gives me the stink eye. He's up for a bit when I soak him weekly, then it's back to snooze. I can't wait for him to wake up.
