Anyone here from Calgary? I want your beardie info!

If that doesn't produce a response quickly, I would talk to the humane society and you can probably make a complaint about them. From my experience working in a petland, Market Mall Petland has always had by far the worst conditions for any of their animals. They are very bad at cleaning out...

Anyone here from Calgary? I want your beardie info!

I worked in the crowfoot petland reptile department for a couple years. In my experience it would depend on the severity of the injury, if the reptile still eats and does not get sick they will usually just keep it in store until it does sell. It could also get a vet visit depending on how his...

That sucks, I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully everything works out for the best and you can keep her! I can't imagine parting with Todd, and we've only has him for a little while

Just the one, he is a rescue that we have only had for a couple months though, so we are paying for all of his previous owners mistakes. I've had some reptiles before, chameleons & crested gecko, nothing quite like this guy though. They are such amazingly little things. This site has helped...

That upsets me a lot also. I have been told by every pet store I have called (Including J&J's) that coils are fine. But then you find so much evidence to the contrary, and see it on the ER section of the forums, the pictures of beardies with their swollen eyes... ugh, upsetting!

Beardie on Chlor Palm, loss of appetite, problems breathing.

Me too! Even better news, Todd ate 3 butterworms on his own tonight! So we're getting back into him eating on his own hopefully! Tried a cricket, but I think we are going to have to freeze them a bit before we feed them, slow 'em down for him. So happy though, hopefully we are finally on the...

Yeah, we are thrilled. Plus, he's being insanely active, running and jumping all over, we've had him out a few times this morning already, today is a good day!!

Yay! Todd pooped! This has been the first time in nearly 5 days, we were starting to panic! It all looked normal and good, not super smelly or anything.... so relieved :D

"Bearded Dragons also need proper lighting. A UVB light is needed, with two options being available, Fluorescent strip bulbs or mercury vapor bulbs. These bulbs have variable ranges of UVB output; owners must ensure proper distance from bulb to the basking spot so the lizard can properly absorb...

Anyone here from Calgary? I want your beardie info!

Make sure you have a UVB light for her, as she will not get it from sunlight coming through the window (Glass reflects it, so she won't be getting what she needs) UVB is critical for them, you really don't want them ending up with metabolic bone disease like my rescue has... Usually with...

Beardie on Chlor Palm, loss of appetite, problems breathing.

We're definitely not giving up on him, we'll do whatever it takes. He ate some blueberries again this morning (I wish he would eat something else too, but that's all he picks out of his salad, at least he's eating by himself with it though) he slept most of the day but perked up for his bath...

Maybe he's just having a bad day, and he'll feel better in the morning after getting some protein in him.

Beardie on Chlor Palm, loss of appetite, problems breathing.

He seemed to be perking up the last couple of days, enjoying his baths, moving around a lot... today is another story, he didn't touch any of his berries this morning, he's weak and seems very tired (wasn't even trying to get away as much while we were feeding him or trying to lock up his jaw...

well he does enjoy blueberry so that's probably smart. Hopefully that'll do the trick.

Beardie on Chlor Palm, loss of appetite, problems breathing.

We found some bee pollen, but the texture was strange and the expiry quite near, going to try for the soy yogurt I think tomorrow. Any suggestions on what kind? He's just so picky, and though we are force feeding, I would rather it be as painless as possible.

Beardie on Chlor Palm, loss of appetite, problems breathing.

Update. This morning Todd was up and moving around a lot, seems pretty active. He ate a couple blueberries again, and possibly some dandelion greens, though I'm not sure for sure. Still won't go for any baby food or bugs, so he's still being force fed, right now we've been doing it once...

Beardie on Chlor Palm, loss of appetite, problems breathing.

Here's an update... Still not eating/drinking, though he felt ambitious this morning and tried to get a blueberry, missed and got some dandelion green, that's about all on his own though. We mixed some chicken/squash baby food with calcium powder and a bit of water (haven't got the probiotic...

Beardie on Chlor Palm, loss of appetite, problems breathing.

we will try and get him a probiotic tomorrow, hopefully that will help get him back to eating on his own. I had assumed it was probably still from the meds, how long can he go without eating until it becomes life threatening? He is basking, and always looks at you when you come into the room...

His appetite still sucks, wouldn't eat anything today. Mixed his Avi booster with some squash baby food in the syringe and got that in him... hopefully he'll eat tomorrow :(
