Beardies see us as enemies?! WHAT?!

Right, yesterday i was looking up out of curiosity the prey and predators of bearded dragons, and came across this statement on google books, it made me pretty angry/annoyed to say the least: Freeze or Fight 'Beardies also show an unsual reluctance to move, even when directly threatened by a...

    How big is your juvie?

I'm just wondering about the differences in sizes of beardies when they're juvies... So post your beardie's age and size if you can :) Would also be great to read some then and nows as well, if you know what your beardie was as a baby and what it is now! To start off with Alfie's 5 months and...

    Beardie went crazy...

Alfie's 5 months old, and he's absolutely wonderful and never ever been a problem. But now i'm worried... Earlier today i got Alfie out and he was fine... All of a sudden he just went nuts, trying to run away and jump anywhere he could. In a struggle to keep hold of him i put him back in his...

    bit of beard sticking out

Its probably not anything to worry about... But i was just wondering if this could mean anything? It's only been like this the last couple of weeks, and was fine before that. As you can see he's in mid shed, so looks pretty grumpy :D Thanks for any help x

    DRIED mealworms?

Was looking around the local normal pet store today... and noticed that they do dried mealworms... This may be a stupid question but would you be able to feed them to your beardie? (I'm thinking more of an adult beardie as they wont have as much protein). It said they were ok for birds and...

    Could it be parasites?

My beardie seems absolutely fine, eats LOADS, is relatively active, always alert, growing fast... However, Alfie takes ages to get out of bed in the morning, has been acting a little grumpy recently and he's starting to get watery poo. Its not runny... but theres a lot of water with it... more...

I've just invested in some nice tiles which i've just added to Alfie's viv, and have also upgraded his heat lamp to 100 watts and now its at the right temperature (around 105 degrees) :) Just wanna see what you guys think now i've made a few changes, thanks x

    Tiles?

I've decided that i'm most probably going to change from wood chips to tile :) I didn't actually like the look of them at first, but after looking at some of the amazing vivs on the viv only thread, i've changed my mind :) And i also want the best for my little baby. Just one problem... I was...

Would this be an ok substrate to use?

At the moment I'm using wood chips in my beardie's enclosure, which i have heard isnt the best thing to use and they're also really annoying to clean and replace... However i really like loose substrate as it helps secure the plants and bark i have for him to climb on, and i'm not too keen on...

    Popping noises

What do they sound like? This may sound stupid but sometimes my beardie makes a little noise when he licks.. I just want to know what to look out for or what to ignore. Jeez, being a first time beardie owner sure is hard work (sure is worth it though) :)

    Is this tail rot?

Alfie's 3 months, and adorable. But i'm a bit worried about his tail. When i bought him he was with all his other brother and sisters, and he was the only one that actually had a full tail. It's always been a bit dark, but i'm worried if its tail rot or not? And can anyone explain exactly what...

Something wrong... Just fat or just paranoid?

Alfie is 3 and a half months old, and is my first ever beardie :) I love him to pieces and he's so lovely :) Problem is everything's new to me and because i wanna make sure he's happy and healthy, i worry a lot. Problem is Alfie's stomach bloats considerably at times and i'm not sure why. I...

    Lighting causing stress?

Right ok... I know there's a lot of forums on here about the UVB lighting but i'm still confused. I've had my beardie Alfie for around a month and a half now (he's two and a half months old) and have been using the Repti Glow 10.0 coil bulb. This is what they were using in the pet store and also...
