Hi all - as I mentioned in my introductions post, after an 8 year hiatus, I am re-entering the beardy world with a surprise dragon for my 9 year old son that I am temporarily calling Fireball until his forever human picks his forever name.
In addition to his surprise, I am also building a...
Hi all!
It's been about 8 years since I posted here and since I rehomed my bearded dragon, Elliot, after the birth of my first son.
He now 9 years old and has shown quite the interest in slimy and scaly critters. At the moment, he has a Pixie frog that he has taken incredible care of for the...
Both of these are wild caught and unsexed meller's chameleons. (chamaeleo trioceros melleri) The are one of the largest chameleon species in the world and are one of the few that are considered social.
So, I have basically become addicted to chameleons after Odie and have now added two amazing additions to the clan
1. The future and second half of my panther chameleon breeding program, Sally
2. Meet Fria, a melleri chameleon (Chamaeleo (Trioceros) melleri). She is one the the 3...
Oh Jodie....
First off, kudos to you for sticking in there!
Now let me fill you in a bit on what has been going wrong for you.
1. petsmart is that LAST place you should buy a dragon from. Especially such a little one. Ideally you want a good healthy dragon from a reputable breeder be it...
So Elliott finally had his first blackbeard this morning!
He was running around the living room and I had put up a barrier in a doorway so he couldn't leave the living room. One side of it is a mirror and i wasn't even thinking about when I put it there. About 5 seconds later he saw his...
You all know the argument that they can't sense heat from underneath and can burn themselves if a uth fails.....
My problem with this is that in the wild, they lie on very hot rocks in the dead of summer. How hot do you think a rock gets in the blazing sun?? 110? 130? 180? I have heard that...
EDIT: After reading a link on the Chameleon forums that the administrator that banned me posted, I have decided that this post did in fact violate their copyright agreement and have decided to remove it. While the original poster of the material was ok with me using it here, the site was not...
This one is no where near as extensive as beautiful dragons but it offers another source for information and research for some of the most common feeders.

Do with it what you will
***Backstory:
I am considering getting a chameleon so naturally I am doing some research and decided to join a chameleon forum. I am of the logic if you want to learn the proper care for dragons, you should join a dragon forum. If you want a chameleon join a chameleon forum and so on, and so...
A mountain biking facebook friend of mine took this while mtb'ing in Indiana. It's a timber rattle snake. How awesome is that?! He said the snake stayed there for about 15 minutes.
Elliott usually will go bury his head somewhere when it comes time to nap time but last night he must have been too tired to even bother. He just slept exactly where he was basking.
Sunday morning, before going to the in-laws for a day of painting, I slid Elliotts door open to give him a quick pat goodbye and then off I went. Fast forward 8 hours later....I walk in the door and take a peek at E's home and notice the door slid open about 6 inches and my heart sank! I quickly...
I have been leaning towards doing this more and more and MattK finally put the icing on the cake with his awesome creation! I have a blog going so all the details and stuff are there but here is a day progress photo....
Here are a couple of pics of his new viv. These are just the outer shell basically. It is loosely based off the crossfire design but i didnt want any of the vents so i changed how it was vented. I used 1 sheet of maple woodgrain melamine for the whole thing.
The tank is done now and I'll take...
