Hi all, Charlie took a turn yesterday and we lost him last night. He was batteling two parasite infections and a bacterial infection in his mouth, and ultimately just had too much going on. I don't regret rescuing him at all and am glad I was able to give him a month or so of love and care...

I got a video of him wallowing around the sink with some water, but it won't load. :( Too big. I need to make a shorter video!

He pushed himself up all by himself tonight after he got rinsed off. We started the transition from the dropper to a spoon and it got a little messy, lol. He was a little lethargic yesterday but he’s pretty spry today. I had a hard time keeping hold of him!

Sorry it's been a few days since an update. The last few days have been 'hanging by a thread of sanity' type days! :ROFLMAO:🤪😭 This morning's latest adventure was the CO2 monitor going off at like 5am or some other unholy hour of the morning, well before I was expecting to be up. Got everyone...

THIS YOGURT from Kroger looks like it would be a good fit... I can pick some of this up on the way home. Thanks for that tip! I hadn't even thought of getting probiotics into him, I've been so pre-occupied with making sure he's hydrated enough and getting nutrition in general. He barely eats 2mL...

First off… look at these gorgeous colors! He’s going to be a handsome little guy once he’s feeling better and stops turning black on me! Secondly, he gave me a heart attack just about. I went to feed him and noticed black on his lips and he has a black tipped tongue that the vet wasn’t concerned...

I dropped a substantial portion of my paycheck on Charlie… before I even picked him up. 😱 Little buggers are expensive!

I think the responsibility of neglect should equally be shared between the breeder, pet store and consumer. I believe that as an owner, I am responsible for educating myself on the animals I choose to acquire, regardless of the information the pet store supplies or the husbandry of the breeder...

Today’s update… Baytril is gross and I have to give it after food or he gets mad and refuses to eat, lol. He black bearded me for that one. And, I so excited…. Drum roll… WE ARE IN TRIPLE DIGITS! He weighed in today at a whopping 100g!😁🥳

Charlie’s vet appointment was today. He’s holding steady at 93g. He has an infection in his mouth that was partially sealing his mouth shut, and they cleaned all that up and gave me antibiotics for it. We also did a calcium and B injection and sub-q fluids, which absorbed really fast. The vet...

We have a poop! I don’t think I knew how much I was holding my breath on this one until it happened, lol. I guess I was really concerned his digestive system might be compromised, but he had a great poop and urate just now! He’s eaten twice so far today and one more to go. Post poop weight is...

Charlie lost one gram of weight between his post feeding weigh last night and his pre feeding weigh tonight, but sucked down enough slurry to achieve a grand weight of 93g tonight! He’s eating more eagerly.

I have been holding him up so that his nose doesn’t go fully into the water, but aspiration is also a concern of mine. :(

We just finished a whole 2mL of baby food mixed with repti care! Yay! I gave him a quick soak and he’s really wanting to drink a LOT of water and I’m a little concerned by that. Can that be a sign of organ failure? Do I let him drink his total fill or only let him have so much?

Also got a video of how he moves. He’s a lot more active today than he was yesterday.

I’ve removed the mesh and managed to find a clamp lamp. Really need a second one, but I’ll make due for now with what I have and just swap the basking bulb out with the CHE at night. On another angry note, I got a scale. He weighs only 88 grams. A full grown male, at only 88. The repti...

I'm feeding him a slurry of veg baby food, with multi vitamins and calcium with D-3 mixed in right now, out of a dropper, so I think that should be sufficiant for water for the time being. I really hope I can get him to transition to eating on his own soon!

I'll make that adjustment tonight. It didn't even occure to me that he technically doesn't need the lid, as he's not really going far. I have him closed in a room by himself, so none of the docs or the cat can get anywhere near the cage. I'll stop by Walmart tonight and take a look for a scale...

He's pretty bad. I'm tempted to up his vet appointment from this coming Saturday, but I really don't have the time off work. :( Good news though, he showed some interest in some curley kale this morning! Not enough to eat it, or lick it, but he was watching as I moved it around and looked like...
