    Incubator question

So do you add water to the vermeculite at all during the incubating period? I read that you should so I was wondering when. So far we have not touched them, we have left them alone. Again thank you and everyone else for your help and input.

    Incubator question

Ok so what if I see condensation one day but not the next? Does that mean I need to add a bit of water to the vermeculite? Also should the eggs stay soft, or do they turn hard like chicken eggs?

In the lay box (picture heavy)

We got eggs last night!!! 29 of them. I could see veins in most of them. Some were just clear looking but I still put them all in the incubator. It sure was tedious digging them out of the dirt. Here are a few of the eggs. The only problem was the dirt stuck to them. How do you guys get...

Here are a few pictures of mom and dad pre mating Chloe (mom) Cinder (dad) Together This is actually an older picture, they are in malamine cages now (sperate of course unless they are breeding). No sand substrate, as you will notice on the picture of Chloe, we keep them on newspaper...

    Incubator question

Hi Ernie, Thank you. We were stressing because the ambient humidity is at 80% - 84%. When we open the door it goes down to about 75% - 79% depending on what it was before we opened, and how long it is open. Again thank you, I think we are just stressing to much. Stephanie

    Incubator question

We are waiting on eggs and have a wine cooler all set up temp holding at 84 degrees. My question is what is the ambient humidity of the incubator supposed to be? I have read 80% and have read not to worry about it just keep the vermiculite moist. What do you do and why? Thank you, Stephanie

Out of the mouths of Babes

Last Wednesday on the way home from work I had my 4 year old son strapped in his seat in the back seat of my car. The music was up and my daughter and I were chatting in the front seat about what was for dinner that night. All of a sudden my son screamed, "MOM! LOOK THE MOON IS IN SHED!"...

    Snow x Leucistic????

Man I wish I had heard that before I purchased. Everyone I talked to said good things. I had such a weird feeling too right after I purchased. I just shrugged it off as buyers remorse. I guess I learned my lesson. While they say they breed their own animals they are still a pet store. I...

    Snow x Leucistic????

Ha! I bought one from them too, back in January. That little thing has almost been the death of me. You are right it looks like a normal, nothing like the picture. How big is yours? Mine was so small it got lost in the egg crate we put in the tank! Also, she/he decided not to eat. Turned...

    Superworms nightmare

Where do you live? If you are giving them away I will take them...assuming you are close to me. You might not want to put them on the porch, it is to cold for them and they will die. Stephanie

    Superworms nightmare

No you cant feed those to him. They are way to big. You will definitly have to worry about impaction if you feed those. Where did you get them from? Maybe you can call them and tell them you didn't realize how big they were before you ordered, and that you have a small guy who cant eat them...

http://acricket1.com/ If you live in CA this guy sells them 1000 for $9.50 (you have to have a business name though). 2 day express postal at $9, or overnight at $16. The supers are $17 for 500, that is a little high. Oh and he has baby supers for your young dragons. I always purchase from...

    Liquid calcium

Ok another question. Probably driving you nuts hu  Do you keep up the supplimentation through their entire life? What I mean is, on beautiful dragon she has it broken down to start slowing down the supplimentations after a year. I guess it makes sense as they are not growing as...

    Liquid calcium

That does help. Thanks Tracie. One more question though. I am using reptisun 10.0 for all my dragons, and I know that my calcium need to have D3, however, the liquid form does not have D3. What can I do to ensure they are getting adequate amounts of D3? Should I still dust the crickets...

    Liquid calcium

Thanks Tracie! My next question is how often. On beautiful dragons she says to dose 7 x a week on a dragon under the age of 1 year, however, I have most often read here to only give calcium 5 x a week. On that same note beautiful dragons says to give vitamins 4-5 x a week on a dragon under...
